Do you typically vote for incumbents?
Depends on how well they've represented me.
I do not like the stays quo we have in our country. I vote libertarian. I have in every election so far.
The lesser of 2 evils still gives you evil.
Depends, did they do what they said they were gonna do, and have they made things worse!
It depends on whether I think there's a better candidate. If I'm really split about who to vote for, though, I'll go with the incumbent - at least I know how they do things in practice, rather than how they would do them, in theory.
And if there's a girl I vote for the girl
I don't vote for them in the primaries, but if they make it thru and are the same party as me then I vote for them reluctantly
No I vote for the candidate I've selected
Fortunately, Oregon typically has good selections.
You all say kick them out, yet 98% of incumbents are re-elected. Many of you are lying your ass off
Funny to see two thirds say vote them out, then 90% of incumbents win each election. Large disconnect. People don't vote by newbie or incumbent, many vote by party. You're not going to vote out the guy from your party just because he's the incumbent.
I vote for the most Conservative.
No way to answer that. Depends on the people.
Get rid of them all
It's rare that i vote for an incumbent. They have to be doing an exceptional job to get my vote. My 'go to' is to vote the challenger.
I look at incumbents closer, because they have a record of performance doing the actual job, which can be very negative if they fall well short of average. But it can also be enough to give them another term, against an unknown.
I typically vote for the person who seems best for the job -- but around here, I tend to agree with the majority, so the incumbents are usually the people I voted for last time, and they tend to be the people I vote for again.
