Pay attention to what really goes on at the UN. Look at who they just put on the security Council. The UN is a nice idea in theory, but as is usual beurocracy destroys its potential.
I like the U.N. Anarchy in any sense never works, and so the U.N. serves as place where grievances can be heard, group decisions can be made, and collective missions can be supported.
It's imperfect, but it has done much good for the world and if would be foolish for the US to leave the UN. Especially considering the great deal of power we have from our advantageous permanent position on the UN Security Council.
All countries of the world should be part of the United Nations. It was created to keep and promote a fair living and peaceful world, and help poor countries.
In its current form, no. But the idea of a central area where countries can conduct open diplomacy and trade, and disputes may be mediated by unbiased moderators is a good idea, as long as it does not enforce laws
