The egg. There were one or more mutations in the sperm or ovum that combined in the egg, or in the very early embryo, that resulted in progeny that was a new species, unable to reproduce with members of its almost-a-chicken parent types.

Since God CREATED everything, the chicken was first, was complete and was able to deliver eggs.
