Your spouse is stranded on an island for 5 years, presumed dead. You remarry. After several years, your first spouse is found. You sleep together the day he/she is found and never do it again. Did you cheat?

Married to two women - not a bad predicament.

You've made a new commitment, it's cheating.

Yes, a person isn't legally presumed dead for 7 years, so you've actually cheated twice!

Yep. You're in a committed relationship with person you most recently married and sleeping with anyone during that relationship is considered cheating on them.

Yep. Sure is. I don't know what this other blather is about it 'not' cheating. Haha. Crazy.

No, because you were never divorced in God's eyes.

So by remarrying, the spouse that never got stranded was cheating on the lost spouse.

So let's say a soldier is missing in action. There's no evidence they're dead, but it's presumed so. How much time would need to pass in God's eyes for it to be ok for the spouse to remarry without it being "cheating"?
