When in school, did/do you call your teacher by their first or last name?
Mostly Last names Mrs or Mr
First names would be unthinkable. Only Miss Mrs or Mr X. As it should be.
Most of the time last but if I was good friends with my teachers outside of class I'd call them by first name
Last. Now that I'm in grad school it's typically by their military rank or Dr 90% of the time.
Last preceded by Mr., Mrs.. Or Ms.
I would feel weird even today calling my grade school teachers by their first name.
College on the other hand is weird because everyone has different preferences on what you call them.
Absolutely never in elementary or high school. Never in class in college, even when I was up to 25 years older than a few of my profs. Only outside of class if we were actual friends.
Oh - not true - almost everyone called our photography
professor by his first name. (He's one of my closest friends ever, so I'd forgotten it wasn't just an outside-class thing with him.)
Last, until college, where 99% went by a first name.
