I'm in Canada again, and I've been here for long enough to make this observation. The reason most Canadians are "okay" with their form of government is because 98% of their media reports American news. Would you agree with that statement?
Is your hypothesis that Canadians are too distracted to notice or is it that they see how fükked up things are here and they want no part of it?
What an arrogant statement.
Arrogant or not, it doesn't make it any less true. I've been to St. John's, NL, Edmonton, AB, Sault Ste Marie, ON, and Toronto. Their radio and TV dedicate the vast majority of their content to American news.
Canada went through a massive restructuring in the 90s. Their economy was was worse than ours at our lowest point. They cut regulation and government spending tremendously and pulled themselves out. Most probably remember those darker days.
That, and they're very passive and childlike in their demeanor.
What evidence is there for that? Lol
Just my personal experience from business, conversations on airplanes, etc.
How did they act like that? I'm just curious.
It's difficult to describe, but it always just feels like talking to a small child.
I know exactly what Liberty is talking about and I concur. It's hard to describe, but they're really passive... It's kind of like they're ignorant to the fact their government is out of control, but if they knew, they wouldn't mind anyway....
I'll take your word for it, eh?
This user is currently being ignored
I thought Canada had laws that a certain percentage of broadcasts had to be produced by Canadians?
No idea... But being produced by and playing content of are two completely different things.
For the record, I'm in Saulte Ste. Marie, ON, quite a distance from the Parliament building in Ottawa.
I always think of cold when I think of the Soo. Glad you're out of the meld
Out of the melee. Have a pierogi for me. :)
