There are two versions of an e-book that interest. Both books are priced the same. Both books contain the same text. The only difference is that one contains pictures and the other does not. Which would you buy?

The full, unabridged edition, assuming the pictures appeared in the original and weren't just added in a subsequent edition.

I like pictures. Most of the books I bought your knitting books or cookbooks anyway.

I would actually opt for the one without images, if it's an ebook. Pictures tend not to work very well on e-readers from my experience (especially ones that use e-ink), and they are an annoying interruption from the text.

It depends on the type of book and what the pictures are. If they help illustrate points, add more info, etc. or are there just for aesthetic reasons.

Wow, I didn't expect such a nice mix of responses. To clarify, I am envisioning a self-help book for the Kindle. I'm debating whether adding images really makes a difference at all.

Depends on if the pictures are an important part of the overall book. A novel, no big deal. If its a service manual, the pictures help.

And sometimes with an e book, the pictures make it harder to load.

If there are 2 products for the same price & 1 comes w/a bonus, I'm opting for the one w/the bonus 99% of the time. Plus, who doesn't love photos?

I don't care for pix in a book unless it's a biography or cook book. With e-book I don't want pictures at all.

Did I read it wrong ( which won't surprise me). I envisioned reading from my Kindle with pictures as part of the story. Is that what Tom meant :-p

I'm confused by your question. One book has photos, the other doesn't. I don't know what you mean by "part of the story." I just picture a book that includes photos wherever they'd be relevant to the topic being covered. -shrug-

See Musicmans response above. That is what I was getting at. If I was reading Harry Potter on kindle I don't want pictures illustrations of Harry Potter on the page.

Ah, I see. Makes sense.

On my end, I'd assumed it was less of a novel and more of a self help type book since the poll was posted by a life coach. But, that may be a poor assumption on my part.
