Your laptop is in the shop. There are two choices for repair depending on what it'll cost. They fix it, or give you your hard drive and a gift card. Which would you prefer, given the choice?
Laptops become outdated so quickly that I would definitely replace it.
Unless my laptop is less than about year old, I'd go for the upgrade. But it depends on what is wrong with it and what it will cost. Most problems with computers, even heavily integrated laptops, can be fixed without spending a lot of money.
My laptop is kind of crappy while it's working, so I'd definitely replace.
Rich people problems...
Get the gift card and use it towards purchase of a new Mac tower.
Hard to say. My laptop isn't the run of the mill best buy laptop, so it's worth it for me to keep it. I love my Thinkpad with windows 7.
Replace I guess, if the gift card is covering the new one completely.
It's the same amount as what you spent when you bought it.
Repair because I like Windows 7 better than Windows 8, which is trying to be too much like Apple.
