Have you gotten (or are you planning to get) a flu-shot this Fall?
I really didn't want too but my sister-in-law had a brain aneurysm and is still in the hospital unconscious, so I felt I needed to so I don't bring anything in that could harm her further.
My hospital gives you a choice-- take it or don't work here. I as a healt care worker have no rights. The patients we treat have more rights than we do. I take the shot under protest.
I am more likely to die of the flu than Ebola, Already got the shot.
No my cousin almost died last year from the shot. She had a grand mal seizure right after getting the shot. She was healthy only 20 years old with no pervious seizures. After learning more about the side effects of the shot I will not get one.
Google the ingredients of the 2014 flu shots, you will see formaldehyde, Mercury (also known as thermsol).
Yeah, and with my luck I managed to get the flu the next day.
I avoid shots if I can. My doctor tried to get me to get a shot for some std. I'm 16.
Hell no. In my experience, the flu shot is more likely to give you the flu than to prevent it. And, either way, my husband works in a clinic so I'm sure we'll get it at some point.
This is about the 4th time someone has asked this same question
No, I've never had the flu nor has anyone in my family. My dad got the flu shot and was sick as a dog on and off for a year.
Ever since I left the Navy (where they forced us to get flu shots) I have not received one, yet I have not gotten the flu. When I was in the Navy, I always got the flu....
Getting it thursday
We are not a "flu family". I never had the flu or took the shot. Due to several medical issues I was advised not to take shot but I wasn't planning on doing so anyway.
Technically yes although they sprayed it up my nose. I got sinus problems the same night.
I actually got infected by the Mexican girl at work before I could get the shot...My thyroid was killing me for 3 days straight after that. I really don't see the point in getting the shot now that I'm immune.
You're not immune....
like hell I'm not!
Lol. Okay you think that.
The flu isn't like chicken-pox. Lol. You can get it over and over again. Even several times a year. But I still wouldn't recommend getting the shot.
Well, I'd hate to get the flu again...it really kicked my ass this time around. Better luck to you too.
Just got mine today,at 72 get one every year.
To all the "no" voters:
Enjoy carrying the flu to others who are affected by it, you selfish doof. I hope you get sued for lost wages, medical expenses, etc. and that you get a stockingfull of guilt Christmas.
If you want to poison yourself and your children that's fine by me. No skin off my ass. I'll go ahead and choose not to drink the kool-aid.
All the no's? So even the ones with allergies to eggs and other ingredients in the vaccine? Because everyone chooses to refuse it and totally doesn't have a legitimate reason not to. I don't have a reason but I'm not getting one. Cry more.
Some of us don't require it b/c we have great immune systems (plus it didn't help that the 1 & only time I did made me sick) ... My family don't get the flu (it will be from someone else) so we won't be passing dufus either.
My new flag says "Don't cough on me!"
No. The flu vaccine is a guess at which ones will be prevalent that year. I've never had the vaccine, only had it once. I'm not in the demo that "should" either. Also if there is a shortage, I wouldn't want to take it from a person who needs it.
By "needs" I mean elderly, immune compromised, pregnant women, nurses, doctors, etc.. I'd feel bad taking a vaccine from someone's Grandma Betty!
Never had a flu shot. Never got the flu.
I should be fine yet another year.
Tbh I am not a fan of excessive vaccines anyways, considering they contain Mercury, etc.
Yeah I heard about that from my veterinarian, she also told me they stopped giving the yearly shots to the animals.
Got it. Now they have a double dose one for us seniors...
IDK I heard that vaccines contain trace elements of Hitler and Stalin.
I don't care that you don't have polls, to not follow you after this comment would be a crime!
Got both a flu and pneumonia shot two weeks ago.
Got it a couple weeks ago. Everyone should get it. While it doesn't always prevent you from getting the flu, it does make the symptoms less severe.
IF, and only IF, the particular strain you acquire is one of the types they've put in this year's shot/mist. CDC openly admits it's an educated guess. Everyone should make an informed decision about what they put into their body.
That's not completely true. Any flu shot will lessen the severity of the flu even if it's not matched to the particular strain you catch. It just has much higher odds of preventing you from catching it if it is matched to the main circulating strain.
CDC says "antibodies made in response to vaccination with one flu virus can SOMETIMES provide protection against different but related viruses. A less than ideal match may result in reduced vaccine effectiveness."
Any flu shot will not work. It depends on the ones they include, and if they are closely related to the ones circulating. I would never say "everyone should(not) get them" because of the continually changing odds it will help any specific individual
No, every time I get a flu shot, I get the flu.
As I stated before ( question from the beginning of Oct.) I’ll take the risk of illness that my healthy immune system can fight off over the risk of being forcibly inoculated with whatever toxins the creators of these vaccines choose to include.
Vitamin D works for me.
Yep, and C/probiotics. I also put Mother Nature and my immune system in the driver's seat. Haven't had the flu in decades.
Oh fer crying' out loud!
I'm getting one Friday, my husband for his yesterday, and our boy got one last week. I don't see a reason not to get one.
I've never got one before, but I haven't got the Flu in 20 years, but bc I have a baby here I have to get it.
You hear that Feds...if you're ever planning on poisoning or putting some mind control shit in it...this is your only shot at getting me.
I've gotten the shot a couple time, still got the flu with or without... I don't handle needles well, so it's not worth it to me... They don't really work anyhow.
Wash your hands.
Cover your cough/sneeze
Disinfect commonly touched items
No. My wife is a physician ( we know how there made, how they select the contagion and what's in them ).
Just stay clean....
I hate needles, but we all need to try and control or influence what we can, and be proactive about our health. Strangely, it's cheaper for me to get a flu shot at a drug store than my physician's office as my insurance won't pay for it...
Or you know, be clean, wash your hands, and cover your sneeze/cough and save the money to begin with.
I would, but I'm allergic to egg whites and nowhere around here has the version without them.
I should, but needles really freak me out...
FYI there is a flu shot in the form of a nasal spray. But I'm not saying you should get it.
I'd be fine with that, actually. I didn't know they had those.
Already got it, I am around kids most days so there is no way I'd put them at risk even though I haven't had the flu in over 10 years.
I'd be more worried about getting it from them, then giving it to them lol
Never have. Never will.
"I ain't gittin' no shot cuz it's poison. I ain't never been sick so obviously I don't need no government test shot." -most commenters.* *I may be paraphrasing.
Yea how dare people not want formaldehyde and heavy medals in their bodies...
I want a medal.
"I gotta git me some of dat anti-sick drug cuz I heard da boss and da TV say I'll git sick if'n I dont."*--you. *I'm paraphrasing.
It's kind of stupid not to...
No. I refuse to be a test subject for the Government.
I usually get one in November when the university I go to offers them for free.
No. I can't remember the last time I got the flu. But then again I'm almost obsessive compulsive when it comes to washing hands and using sanitizer.
Got mine today.
If I wanted poison in my blood I'd shoot up some heroin.
No thanks, I'll pass, just like every year. And just like ever year........ I'll be....... Flu-less.
Got one. Gave bunches.
No, it's not a flu shot it's an Ebola shot that will give it to us all cause Obama wants to kill everyone and take over
The amount of no's alarms me....good thing im getting my flu shot!
