Has the word "bigot" been widely cast and overused?

Until this poll, I really hadn't seen/heard this word enough to make me think it's being overused. For me, the answer is, "No"...
Wait! I DID watch an episode of Sanford & Son recently! Fred Sanford LOVES that word! (That, and "Dummy"!) :D

I think it's under-used and the word racist is over-used.
Most people who comment here don't understand the nuance of the word racist or the definition of a bigot.

No, aside from SOH, I rarely see that word, and it may be used semi frequently here, but that's only by a small number of users.

No, I think oftentimes the word "racist" is used when "bigot" should be used.
"Racist" is overused.
