Do you open any presents on Christmas Eve?
I've still guy sisters who believe in Santa.
We open family presents (including grandparents, aunts, cousins, etc.) on Christmas Eve and then "Santa" come during the night.
That's why some people give gifts on three kings day because Santa wasn't on Christmas till later to be like the kings giving Jesus a gifts but Xmas isn't a abbreviation it's for people who don't believe in the religion but still want to give and get gifts
Of course, my birthday presents!!
I'm Jewish, so not really
Yes, my mom's family comes over Christmas Eve and we open their presents. Christmas morning we open our stockings, presents from our parents, and from my dad's family (if the sent any)
My family did that for me and my sister, it was a tradition:)
My brother's in-laws on Christmas Eve, our house Christmas morning, my dad's side of the family Christmas Day and my mom's side of the family on the Saturday before or after Christmas whichever is closest to the actual day.
On Christmas Eve, we have a lavish dinner w dessert, then open gifts one at a time. That way we get to see what everyone gets, enjoy their reactions, and you can thank the one who gave the gift. It's a great lesson for the kids, that it's not about the gift, it's about the graciousness of the giver.
Same here. My parents let me open 1 on Christmas Eve and I've continued the tradition.
I didnt say yes but I go to my Grandma's on Christmas Eve and open presents from my relatives. But actual presents from Santa Claus are opened Christmas morning after church. SANTA IS REAL
Our tradition was to open one on Christmas Eve, and the rest on Christmas morning. But I have a big family and my parents are now divorced, so this year I'm @my dads' on the 23rd, stepdad's parents' on the 24th, my mom's Christmas morning and my aunt's later that day - all opening presents! Whew.
All of our presents will be opened on the 21st because my kids leave town to go see their dad after that.
Wise up Craig.
It was definitely sarcasm.
My family is Polish, so we open all of them.
Depends where you are from. American traditions aren't the only ones.
Chill out Aragon. Xmas is an abbreviation. And sure Santa is an short for St. Nick but really St. Nick's day is Dec 6th. Santa Claus did not make an appearance at Christmas until the 19th century. So real Christmas shouldn't even HAVE a Santa.
No one except my son opens presents on Christmas eve, because that's his birthday.
Come on I mean we all have our own opinions but xmas really just cause you X out the name doesn't make it a different holiday it's Christmas and Santa is short for St. Nick it's all religious and you can't change that if its not your religion then celebrate something else but they're the same thing
Yes -- most of them!
We usually do the pajamas opening on Christmas Eve and one of us get a new DVD with our pjs and we watch the the movie together as a family. I wonder what movie it's going to this year?
1 only. Tradition
Since my parents divorced back when I was in college it's always been Christmas Eve at Mom's and Christmas Day at Dad's. therefore, I always open presents on Christmas Eve. Even as a kid though, we would get one present to open after the Christmas Eve service at church.
Christmas Eve we have our big dinner and are allowed to open ONE present. Christmas Day we open all our presents and kind of have a lazy day.
Haha thanks EarlyBird. It is hard to grow up knowing that I cant go back to my innocent preteen years when I actually had time to play with my Legos, DS, etc. Maybe when I grow up I will become a lego set designer and become a kid at heart again? Who knows?
We open our gifts on Christmas eve and have a light meal. It is very magical at night. We have our big meal on Christmas day.
I don't currently but on Christmas Eve we would open ONE when I was a kid
That's when my family gets together and celebrates it.
Xmas eve we spend with one side of the family, Xmas day with the other. We exchange presents both days.
All of them-- then we go hunting or fishing on Christmas Day -- play with the new stuff
Christmas Eve is actually more like Christmas in my family.
I give my kids pj's on Christmas Eve that's the only gift they can open the rest don't come until santa brings them!
Grew up opening them at midnight on Xmas eve. Now my kids open Xmas morning. It's nice to see them wake up happy and excited to see what Santa brought them.
Used to not open gifts. But after getting married, we do Christmas Eve morning/afternoon with my husband's family, Christmas with mine. We needed our own Christmas time as a couple, so we claimed Christmas Eve night a couple years ago to open our gifts to each other. :)
I grew opening all presents on Christmas Eve and then Santa came! My husband had to wait until Christmas morning. He was adamant we wait until Christmas morning.
Ah, nothing like loafing around like a bum in a pair of comfy pajamas and drinking hot chocolate.
Normally, no. Our kids are all grown. Last year my wife had a wee bit much to drink and we convinced her to let us. Happy Day! We got to sleep in on Xmas and she got to sleep off the hangover!
Not immediate family presents. We have the extended family get together and exchange gifts there.
Christmas day, around seven or eight, after my brothers and I have waited for about five or six hours...
Rosebud- it's the only time of year we buy new pajamas. Even though money is extremely tight this year I still wanted the kids to have that continuity.
I didn't know Santa arrived early!?
I thought your suppose to do it on Christmas Day....>_>
all of them!
I open all my presents on the solstice.
Then I wait four days to call my family and pretend to act surprised.
when I was a kid we used to open 1 present on Christmas eve,.but this year everyone is spending it with their husband's families or their kids gotta work so Christmas is gonna suck
