I'm timeless, like how I live forever.

That's the wonder of art: it's always adapting, but the most beautiful pieces are timeless.

I'll go for being the 'Law' rather than the 'Hypothosis'.

Fashion, political views, art? How can you answer the question without knowing the subject?

Are we talking about people or objects?

Adaptable...evolution. Species have been adapting for centuries, including us humans.

@JDoe: snicker :)
Yea, Rolex, Breitling and Patek Philippe are pretty much timeless timepieces.
They don't go digital so a teeny calendar reform won't matter for example.

A timeless work or art vs an adaptable one???

Timeless.
I prefer a constant, an anchor, something reliable.

Isn't evolution adaptability?

06/21/12 5:37 pm

I'd say timeless simply because we were forced to adapt

If we're talking about a Rolex watch, timeless is great.

If we're talking about social or political views, you need to adapt or get to of the way. Things are not what they were 20, 40, or 50 years ago.

Timeless, that has more class!

Definitely adaptable

How did gay marriage get on here? That isn't the question!

Adaptation does not mean you must sacrifice your moral beliefs and support "gay marriage".
For me it means I have learned for some it is a fact of modern life. I accept it, but I don't agree with it.

Adaptable. The past is a lesson, not a lifestyle. Observe, evaluate, react, repeat. The only poor reason for doing a thing a certain way is because that's the way it's always been done. When you begin to believe you start to fail. That some things can't be improved is no reason not to try.

The irony: you must be adaptable in order to be timeless.

If you're timeless, there is no need to be adaptable.

Now if you're talking about camping, crafting, or cleaning, adaptable. I'd like to be able to feed and clothe myself and solve basic problems, thank you!

Timeless. There are timeless people- like Einstein, Newton, or Marie Curie. There are people who set standards, and people who stick to their guns because they know that it's the right thing. And there are those who go with the flow and never do anything worthwhile.

Interesting how most republicans choose adaptable, yet feel that laws written 300 years ago (The Constitution) or 2,000 years ago (the Bible) shouldn't be adjusted for modern times. Interesting.

What a vague question. I thought of it fashion-wise! I pick timeless, seems so much more classy. ;)

I didn't even really understand what the question meant. I thought it was talking about an object not meaning a person lol

I'm not sure which one is better, but if you are not adaptable, you will be going away eventually. On the other side, if you really look at it, those who claim to be timeless are adaptable as well.

The Church does accept evolution now, right?

Or race, or evolution, or heliocentrism...

06/21/12 6:30 am

A good example of adapting would be to understand that homosexuality isn't bad like people used to think, yet most Republicans fail at this basic process.

06/21/12 6:24 am

Ah yes, and therefore women born sterile should also be forbidden from marriage, yes? And the elderly who can't possibly produce children? Oh and people who get vasectomies/tubes tied should most certainly not be allowed to marry. Because it's only about children.

pinkyusuck The Carribean. I wish.
06/21/12 6:20 am

Racedog, that's a poor example. There is no measurably significant benefit to society that comes from homosexual relations. Heterosexual relationships produce children, and thereby taxpayers which benefits society.

Adaptation happens because not everything is timeless. Things that adapt do so around things that are timeless. Ergo, it is better to be timeless as it establishes you as the standard, and everyone else as a wannabe trying to measure up.

06/21/12 5:39 am

Republicans are lying here. If they thought that being "adaptable" was so important, then they'd support gay marriage and wouldn't whine every time some new policy or something is proposed.

In an ever changing world you must adapt.

06/21/12 2:35 am

Adapt but keep some principles.
