@lmurder you just said the same thing. Romney said that govt handling all the money and tricking it down to the people doesn't work (summarized)

I don't even know what Obama was talkig about he was pulling stuff straight out of his as the whole time.

There are so many unknowns about Mitt Romney's tax plan that all of the numbers have to be made up. Obama was quoting the only actual number anyone can honestly come up with. Granted, he rounded up for enhanced effect. If he said "four-and-a-half trillion," he'd be more than accurate.

10/04/12 12:18 pm

...Let's split the difference: $2.5 trillion. Now let's assume by some magic, the tax base grows by an astonishing (and unprecedented) 40% over ten years. Because rates are lower, revenue on taxable income is also lower. So we might get back another trillion. Maybe $1.5 trillion?

10/04/12 12:14 pm

It's an "estimated" $4.8 trillion over ten years (of course 'ten years' is always implied in budget estimates). If we assume that all deductions and credits are eliminated, it could reduce that number to about $3 trillion. So called "loopholes" might give us $200 billion. So $2.8 trillion?...

It'll either be entertaining or something akin to having your hand welded to a bug zapper! Maybe we should get stoned on meth and bake some chex mix when we watch! That'd be...

The big sigh that Obama heaved at the start of his closing statement really showed that HE was already thinking he'd lost.

I would like to know if any claiming to be Democrats in Show of Hnds watched the debate, how can they possibly say that Obama won or that his closing was good unless they are true unadulterated idiots and have no sense of what a debate is

Ryan's a sharp cookie.

Joe's a hothead. He'll probably try to throw blows, or make some wheelchair-bound audience member stand up and take a bow.

The whole "equality for all" progressive chant is a bunch of BS. Life isn't fair. When we were born, the doctor never gave us a guarantee that life would be fair and equal. Suck it up you coexist wieners. Go listen to Coldplay or something.

On all these "who better" questions, party lines remained pretty straight-voted. Therefore, the only relevant significant votes are from the Independents. We Indies hedged towards Romney, and quite strongly in "who won the debate"

10/04/12 1:15 am

The deficit is literally growing right now. It's not on the up swing. It just hit another trillion mark a couple weeks ago at 16 trillion. Read the news-- both sides-- they both say the same thing

10/04/12 1:14 am

Democrats know Romney won the debate on basic debate tactics alone that's why they're being quiet.

Obama has an abysmal record. I'm not sure any closing statement of his could seriously convince people to give him another four years.

Not true. It's still bad. But not as bad as we were at the low point in 2010. It's in recovery mode right now.

It will be. Mormons are very very dedicated to the church. The Church will shun him if he puts America before the church. That's why they didn't want a Mormon as president. There's actually a doomsday prophecy from the Mormon church about a Mormon being president. It doesn't end well.

And Utah lets religion affect law. I hope it's not the same with ole Mitt!

Romney finished it off with what's really going on in the economy and he tells the truth about everything for the people that are suffering under Obamas feet. We need to focus on the small businesses and put people back to work by bring those businesses back up on their feet.
