It was his advisors. The Russians took te missiles out of Cuba because we agreed to take our ICBMs out of turkey. It's not like JFK stood his ground and fought hard or anything.

That's true, but if another president was in control he may have not negotiated with his advisors what so ever.

True. JFK seemed to rely on his advisors a lot. I remember in the movie they made about the CMC, his military advisors were all pushing for aggressive action and he just couldn't come Around to it. Good decision!

The Cuban Missile crisis. It was so serious the Russians in the Russian Embassy started burning their documents and had a flight back to Russia in less than an hour. If they had gotten on the plane, peace talks would have been off and basically WW3

Ok, but the question was rather vague. It could also be argued that his actions nearly caused it. The Cuban missile crisis could be seen as a result if the Soviets seeing previous actions by JFK as weak so they tried to take advantage of that.

That's what I was wondering.

MrLucchese If curious, ask.

Um, that really wouldn't have annihilated the entire population of the world.

If both the U.S. and the Soviet Union used all of their missiles it could have.
