Do you have an overall positive opinion of present day American culture?
I say positive. The sky is the limit to what Americans can do when allowed the freedom. Restrictions only hold people back. There is something for everyone in our culture.
Yes ... barely. Don't eff it up!
Generally no. It's sinful and wicked.
Most is alright but I am not ok with current political culture.
Some of it
No. It's carnal, decadent, and indolent.
I like its diversity
Nope, not a big fan right now
Why should I be when we have Miley Cyrus and Justin Bieber, songs with stupid lyrics that glorify sex and drugs also glorified in TV and Movies, the entitlement generation which can't act responsibly and more.
That's pretty bad, but for the most part those people will leave you alone and let you live your life if you ignore them. For now at least, that's the best part of American culture, you can still be left alone to do things your own way.
Yes and trust me I do, but unfortunately many don't see what damage this "culture" is doing
I'm not sure what that is. I moved from one state to another and the culture is entirely different.
You'll find that even within the state. It's only 40 miles from the craziness down in treehuggerville up here to the common sense of loggertown. Night and day.
Just to clarify, Treehuggerville is Seattle right?
These days all of Pugetropolis, but yes. California North.
In this state, culture and political ideology is easily different across both sides of the cascades.
With all the homosexuals, women, and stoners becoming more and more accepted we see the decline of western society. What was once a nice New England clam chowda' has become a melting pot of multiculturalism; America is doomed.
This is a joke right?
Hopefully because God forbid anyone other than heterosexual, male, WASPs have any rights, powers, free lives right?
Well I did specify New England clam chowda' and not that Manhattan garbage.
So what exactly is wrong with multiculturalism in your view?
Well white is pure and good so turning the chowda' into anything but destroys the entire damn soup.
Why do you think the soup was entitled to be clam chowda in the first place?
Because what was once a nice, creamy, rich New England clam chowda' should always remain that way. It's simply the best way things are done.
But why does the soup have to be clam chowda in the first place?
Because anything else is disgusting, wicked, and leaves a bad taste in my mouth.
Stop trolling, ya punk. You're starting to sound like the two individuals directly below.
OH NOES THE JESII! 'MURIKA IS KILLING THE JESII WITH BROWN PEOPLE AND VAGINAS!
Well it's fitting that MA home of the NE clam chowder was the first to improve upon it in the legalization of gay marriage.
I'm waiting for someone from Maine to attack me for claiming MA as the home of the chowda. :-)
Not at all. It's an open cesspool.
Tom FTW!!!! Preach Tom, preach!
I think I've made my opinion of American culture pretty clear in the past.
I dispute the existence of one single, coherent culture, but as it is meant to be understood, no. It's ridden with antiquated ideals and is severely lacking in its collective ability to think critically.
And yes, overall positive. However, there are many things I am not too proud of.
No - mostly because of the glorification of ignorance in the media, religious fanaticism being on the rise, a departure from intellect and education, and much work left to do in the arena of equality. The civilized world laughs at us, and rightly so.
Who exactly is the civilized world?
if you need to ask, you don't get it.
You're right, I don't. I was honestly curious.
No! We have lost value in hard work.
Don't know what american culture is today.
Too many busybodies wanting to control everybody else.
