If Democrats gain the majority in the House and maintain the majority in the Senate, will progress be made, while Obama finishes out his Presidency?

Yes. The Communists would get a lot done. They already get around the Constitution. If they had unchecked power, they could just burn it.

Progress will be made. For better or for worse is another question. (IMO, it would be better)

Highly unlikely. But progress towards elimination of the middle class will occur regardless

The Dems winning the house is highly improbable. The GOP doesn't need to win any tossup or lean Dem seats to keep their majority.

Probably yes, sadly.

Heaven forbid! Two years of the children in control and we already have a mess on our hands.

This, most anarchist president, must be kept in check. Let's hope adults prevail, and Harry Reid is pushed to the cloak room, where he belongs!

Small government. Liberty for the people. Tight control of this irresponsible president.

Yes, progress for the socialists and communists that are in the White House now.

You may as well have stated that centaurs will take over the House. That will not be changing hands.

No. When our country was at its lowest and most irresponsible was when the democrats had the White House and congress.

No. Republicans will just filibuster everything and obstruct bill passage like they have for the past 5 years.

Sorry republicans filibuster socialist bills and Obama's agenda, I'm not

There will be no Republicans to stop them.

Reid puts up bills and calls for a cloture vote without any notice of intention to filibuster, just to pin "obstruction" on republicans. He literally did it just yesterday.

It's sad that the incurious don't see right through this.

Specifics: he tacked the "buffet rule" tax hike onto a student loan bill, had 56 votes to pass it but called for cloture instead (which needs 60 votes to pass).

He killed his own bill, and screwed over student loan holders who might have

To be completely accurate, it also lets Reid block any amendments besides his own, even by his own party.

I couldn't think of any other bad thing to happen to America. A congress that will rubber stamp Obama's agenda.

How does a supermajority last six weeks?

ScrewU Gone
06/12/14 11:50 am

Veritas thinks calling for cloture is the same as a filibuster. There's been about 4 actual filibusters.

This has been explained numerous times, but he holds party loyalty above truth.

veritas1 Panda

Cloture is the vote to end a filibuster in progress or block one from occurring.

No matter how many times it's explained, you'll choose the lie every time. Even the Washington Post gives the claim 4 pinnichios.
