Have you ever held $10,000 or more in cash? (Checks don't count)
My fiancé and I keep our savings in a safe at home instead of the bank. We just hit the $10,000 mark so as of a week ago yes!
Yes almost every night when I count money before leaving work
No, that's a lot of money.
I work at a bank.. Soo yeahhh.
I was once paid $53,000 in cash for renovation work I did for a high end bar. Not single bill was over a 20.
As a bank headteller when I was only 20. Lots more than $10,000,
Not cash & not mine but as a bank employee I have handled several million $'s redeeming matured and called municipal bonds.
Bahhhhh not even in my dreams
I used to repair bank ATM's. They hold $80,000. So I've held that much before.
Of my own money? No. Of other people's money? Yes. Working retail during Christmas and handling the deposits puts a lot of money in your hands.
Yes, I've held 20,000.
I think the largest amount of cash I actually held in my hands was $1800. Which I lost. And had returned to me, through some effort by the finder. (Which is partly why I always, *always*, will try to find the owner of any cash I find, & not keep it.)
Probably closer to $100,000, in UK Pounds. Not mine unfortunately. It's surprising how little space that kind of money takes up.
Yes. Used to work at a financial institution and I counted some money before it went in the vault a few times.
I dont have $10,000 to my name.
I have. I walked into a dealership with $18,000 cash and drove out with a truck that I paid $200 over dealer invoice. They thought they were going to make it up on financing until I pulled out a wad of cash.
Just curious. From walking into the dealership, how long did it take before you drove away?
about an hour and a half. We spend a good deal of that time haggling over the price of the truck.
Just wondered. I've heard crazy stories about people taking 6 hours or more in a dealership. It wasn't even easy to leave because the dealer takes their car to check it out as a trade-in.
Best one heard of was from my wife's old boss. After shopping around via email, he walked in with the offer and announced that he has 30 minutes to buy this car or he leaves. They managed it too!
Yeah. You can solve that problem by letting them know you have no trouble going to their competitors.
I thought that if you bought a car over $5000 with cash, they report it to the irs or something?
Like investigation or???
They might, but I could prove where I got it and nothing ever came off it. Do theory busted lol
*So theory busted
Not in cash
