Guy on the side of the road has a sign "kick me in the balls for $20." A group of guys gets the discount, 6 punts for $100. After the 4th, he passes out and dies on the way to the hospital. Should the group face charges? If so, who in the group?

The action was explicitly sanctioned by the victim. The death was accidental. No charges.

Yes. Just because he is allowing it, doesn't mean it's morally right to abuse someone. He obviously needs help. Look at it like this- if somebody on the street asked you to shoot them, would you? Bit more direct, but same concept.

Murder is murder. Everybody who participated is held responsible. Charges would be difficult to place, though.

Being a dumbass is not a reason to be punished. The guy got what he deserved and all go free with the knowledge that they murdered someone.

If a guy has a sign that says "I'll pay you $500 to shoot me" it's still murder

if someone had a sign that said "tickle me $20" and he died after a rigorous tickle fight, should the tickler be charged with murder?
there's a difference between tickle and murder, just like there's a difference between kick in the balls and murder

If they were kicking him hard enough to really hurt him that badly I can only imagine they were enjoying the amount of harm they were doing. Tickling doesn't cause physical harm in the end

it can cause heart problems and could lead do death. its not expected to, but neither is kicking someone in the balls.

Ivyra Earth

On the contrary, kicking someone there can result in serious injury and even death, yes. This is why education is important.

06/12/14 8:57 pm

If someone didn't know what a gun was or what it did but shot someone with one, can they be held responsible for murder? Well, yes, they certainly can.

Swarley utah
06/12/14 9:21 pm

yeah, it can cause injury. is it normal fir it to cause death? certainly not. it would be interesting to see the percent of people that are kicked in the balls actaully die from it. probabaly less 1 percent.

Stupid is as stupid does. The dead guy is a victim of his own stupidity. Did you know that there was a guy on the Strip actually getting $20 for letting people kick him in the nuts. True story.

Even if the idiot with the sign said, "It's OK if you kill me," the punters would still be guilty of manslaughter.

Not all crime have victims

rebelfury76 No Justice, No Peace

That's exactly what a crime is. If there's no victim then no one was harmed. No victim no crime. That's not hard to wrap your head around.

Seriously, you think that's how American justice works?!

When Joe sells pot to Mike, who's the victim? No victim, but if the cops are there, Joe is going to jail.

That doesn't mean a crime has taken place and I don't always speak about what is, rather what it should be. Obviously I know that, how fucking dumb are you? It isn't hard to figure out what I'm saying.

The guy may have allowed them to kick him in the nuts, but the group ended up killing him. It may not be a crime on the dead guy because he allowed it, but it's still a crime against the state.
