How many national anthems from other countries would you recognize?
Just the US
4 for sure - 3 of them I know the words to.
Canada and US. I also can recognize the Genovian anthem from the princess diaries movies though. Come to think of it, that just makes me sound worse.
Just the American and Canadian.
Not many. Russian, Canadian, Britain, Australian, French, Finnish.
US, Canada, UK (as well as Scotland since it has its own unofficial anthem), France, Italy, Germany, Russia, Ukraine, China, Japan, Australia, New Zealand, Ireland, Vatican City, Israel, and Turkey
Our own, The anthem of Greece, as well as Russia but that's about it.
Three. That's really pathetic.
Canada and the UK. But I couldn't tell them apart w/o lyrics.
They don't have the same melodies, though. You might be thinking of "God Save the Queen" and our "My Country 'Tis of Thee."
Maybe a few more by language and accent.
US, UK, Canada, France, & Greenland.
Russia, Mexico, Canada, UK, France
ours I hope and canadian and UKs and a foruth if you count the french version of Canadas and maybe any others that mention the countrys names in it.
2 US and Canada
TEACH! tell em you don't teach world history or social studies! ;-)
No I don't. But we were never taught that here, ever.
And it's still not taught.
Listen to China's. It sounds like the soundtrack from a 80's western!
Germany, France, Canada, Russia, UK, Israel, and the EU (but only as Ode to Joy). So I'd say 6 total.
Here's the link to mp3s for the computer folks! www.anthemworld.com/index.php
At least four in addition to ours without a doubt, but probably at least a few more. I've watched a lot of the Olympics on Canadian TV, and they usually show the ceremony even if they don't win a medal in the event.
You'd get Russia from Rocky! Check out China - tell me you don't see Tom Sellack or Kevin Kline riding on a horse when you hear it!
Russia was one of the ones I counted as a sure thing. I'd have gotten China too, and that piece of it does sound a little like John Wayne is getting ready to come riding across the prairie.
3- US, UK, and Canada. No idea on the rest.
Listen to France and Russia. You'll probably recognize them as well.
