Have you ever had a bad haircut? (In retrospect doesn't count.)
Trying to remember if I ever had a good one...
Yes. The worse one was one that I gave to myself when I was about 8 years old.
Yes. I'm currently trying to grow short hair out a bit, and discovered that using a curling spray (not mousse, just conditioner) lets my little natural curl be springy enough to require no other styling. I'm thrilled with this!
Curly layers and bangs grow out more gracefully than when they're straight.
I've found that's the only way I can avoid a mullet when I want a longer look when starting out with a pixie.
Yes, about two weeks after I had my son I went in to have my hair evened out. It was extremely long at the time. When I walked out it didn't even reach my shoulders. I wanted to take that girls ponytail and cut it right off her head.
I had a buzz cut as a kid and in the family photo at my grandparents' 50th anniversary party I had a strip down the middle of my head because the barber had the wrong length on the trimmer.
Yes my mother did it.
I did that to my son once so I guess I had mine coming.
It was my 16th birthday and she cut it so short I looked like a boy. I cried!
My hair wouldn't grow so my aunt (a beautician) kept it short throughout childhood. I was mistaken for a boy even in a dress. They caved to my begging and let me grow it long. Turns out my hair long makes me look like a man in drag. Never again.
I needed a trim desperately but I couldn't get an appointment fast enough. So I let a friend do it who insisted she could because she does her own. She didn't know my hair well enough so I now look like Spock.
I've only ever let 2 beauticians touch my hair because of this fear. I'm hoping I can style it well enough until it grows a bit before I get it done (professionally) again.
Sorry about that! It probably isn't as bad as you think it is. We are always our own worse critics.
Very true! While I always get complimented on my hair, I doubt anyone will say it's awful right now. They probably won't care enough to notice. I'm the one inspecting it most!
I tried to give myself side bangs...
