Do you consider whether a state is predominately republican or democratic when planning to move?
Yes, because I feel like living under the constant rule of the other party would make me angry on a daily basis. I deal with enough of it here, and this is a purple state!
So would you move to state that is primarily democratic or republican?
And why's that? If you mind me asking?
I would feel as if my vote were wasted if I moved to a red state. I would be part of the permanent bitter political minority.
Oh so you're pretty politically active!
For a 17 year old I am.
How'd you get into politics?
My parents are more politically active than most. They had dinner with the President during the last election season.
Wow, that's quite a way to get into politics. Do you plan in having a career in politics?
Maybe. I've been looking at good colleges for poli sci but I don't know if I want to spend my life in politics yet.
I've been considering the same thing, I'm going to college for biology but I was thinking of having a minor in political science, not sure I want to walk down the path of politics.
Not directly, but the taxes certainly makes a big difference and that's closely linked to the politics.
If I could get away from all this blasted pollen, I don't think it matter one way or the other.
I'm not planning to move, but if I do, I will definitely consider the political climate of the state for relocation. I'm a liberal through and through!
Illinois is close to you. Have fun.
I do love Chicago!
I have visited, it was nice, but I would never live there.
Two cheeks of the same butt....
That's never occurred to me. I do think about other factors when I move, but not that specifically. And I've always moved for a particular reason (always family, friend, or education related) that would supersede political issues.
No. I'm independent so it doesn't make a difference to me.
If I move I will consider the political climate of the state. I prefer a liberal state.
And why would you pick a liberal state over a republican state?
No, I look at the cost of living, safety, and factors of that sort.
