If you could create a petition to the White House, what would it be?

1) The President should not be impeached ... Period.

2) Pathetic and lame to flock to cries of racism.

The President absolutely should be impeached. He's done numerous things that are outside of his Constitutional authority.

Can you be specific? Sounds like you're describing every president ever.

So, because other Presidents have been corrupt, we should give him a pass? That make NO SENSE!

DavesNotHere where am I
06/03/14 2:23 am

Who said give him a pass? It's just that knocking Obama has become a fashionable fad. I agree he's a soft lousy president, but the vitriol against him seems to be personal. Why didn't people call for impeachment over Reagan Iran-Contra?

Every factual reason anyone presents for not being a fan of Obama is dismissed & reduced to a charge of "RACIST." What's the point of presenting *any* reason when it will be given no respect or validity? Only acceptable response is "hail Obama."

DavesNotHere where am I
06/03/14 12:37 pm

I don't think all of the people who are anti Obama are racists, although I do think a large proportion is. But the violent way people knock the guy is more than your normal dislike for the sitting president. Especially over the ACA, which

Dave, there are certainly SOME who start to sound racist ... But don't fool yourself. There are plenty of racist Democrats out there, and they'd be firing the same comments at a Black Republican President.

Probably. I'd like Mark Cuban to run for prez.

We need to modify our two party system, something more like the UK unless I am terribly misinformed about how their party system works.

well, the UK technically has a two party system, but its almost better described as a two and a half party system. Labour and the Conservatives are still the two largest parties, but the Liberal Democrats have been getting major headway in terms of

votes, though the number of seats they do have is nowhere close to their share of the vote, and one reason they want to switch from single member first past the post constituencies to some form of proportional representation (though the British

public was against that referendum) then there are nationalist parties like Plaid Cymru and the Scottish National Party, as well as all the parties in Northern Ireland and minor parties like the Greens and UKIP (though UKIP is gaining in popularity)

Mattwall1

So officially, its seen as a 2 or 2 1/2 party system due to the amount of seats and support of the major parties, but unlike here, where except for 2 independents its all Republicans and Democrats in congress, regional and minor parties do have seats

Pretty good description Matt. I'd also point out that there is no separation of powers in the UK. It as though President, like the Queen, was a ceremonial role. The Senate (House of Lords) was subordinate to the House and Speaker Boehner would be ..

... the de-facto leader of the country, able to wield the power of Congress for as long as his party holds a majority and he enjoys the confidence of his party.

Gets a bit stickier with coalition government but that's another story.

No thank you. We simply need to DEMAND that our system function as originally set up! It is all the monkeying around w/original setup, changing rules & protocols that are exacerbating the problem. USED to work just FINE.

Parliamentary system just double down on everything wrong w/Congress now. We need ALL three branches to function as CO-EQUAL branches rather than usurping power/authority of other. Far too many wimps in Congress that won't stand up to Executive fiat!

I would be those petitions have never accomplished anything. His administration never changes anything even when it gets a significant amount of signatures.
