Does the belief that the rich should give back more to society inherently based in envy, or greed by those with less?

Unfortunately that's all this app provides with options sometimes.

no. I look at it more as a responsibility to give back to the society that gave so much to me. I came from poverty and this society allowed me to get an education and break the cycle I was born into. I gladly pay my share so others can have the same

chance. Yes there are bad apples content to collect their checks and zone back out to the TV, but there are more little girls like I was who don't have a choice in the mater and need the help. its worth it to me.

No. Because you owe your riches in no small part to being fortunate to live in this society and the advantages it gave you.

No - To whom much is given much is required.

Based solely on what I was taught by my Christian family and Spider-Man (with great power comes great responsibility...). As someone who lives comfortably, it's my job to help others.

No. I believe this and I don't want or need anything from the rich. It's compassion for those whom the system has relegated to poverty.

It's the recognition that they should give back to the society that made that fortune possible.

And if you think that they did it all themselves, I challenge them to do the same in Uganda.

It's greed and envy. People always seem to know what's best for those who have more money than them.

People should be able to horde their money and do why they wish with it. Wasteful or not without any condemnation or guilt.

I don't believe it's based in greed or envy so much as it's commonsense. You have more, therefore you should give more than those with less.

why

Because you can. I'm not saying tax the rich 50 times the poor but the progressive tax we have now, with some minor changes and cleaning up of the tax code, is the best case scenario.

I don't see greed nor envy in my argument. However i don't even see a counter-argument.
