Have you, a family member, or close friend been diagnosed with gluten intolerance or sensitivity?
I have a couple of friends who believe they are gluten intolerant and are eating as they are.
If you're not diagnosed celiac it's all in your head.
I get these itchy hives all over my stomach but I could never give up my white bread and peanut butter sandwiches!!!!
I just take the caprily care supplement!!
I know some people with Celiac and I have been advised to avoid gluten. (I am about 75% gluten free at home.)
My dad & I have NCGS (non-Celiac Gluten Sensitivity).
Since I did not make it clear, this does include those diagnosed via an elimination diet & personal observation. It has to until the testing becomes more accurate. :)
Not medically diagnosed, no.
Diagnosed via an elimination diet & personal observation? If so, I say that counts. :)
I don't. People self diagnose with a lot of stuff & can be quite wrong. Often making substantial diet changes of almost any kind helps a person feel better or be more healthy - it doesn't necessarily mean that their "diagnosis" was correct. There
can be a number of reasons, psychological as well as nutritional or medical.
Yes, but most of the experts admit that the gluten sensitivity tests are not all that accurate. Which is why most of them recommend that if you are having the symptoms that you try an elimination diet. You eliminate the reactive foods & then after
a period of time, usually a month or two, then you add back those foods & see if your body tolerates them.
