"A picture is worth a thousand words."
And for every one of those words a paragraph about how bad it is
And a thousand pixels
A pictured creates an emotional response which is different for everyone. Picture bring up memories and feelings with great detail.
"But officer, I did not steal that car!" cops look at video, shows you stealing car. YOU'RE BUSTED!
I can also write a single sentence that can not be described with a picture.
Pictures may have a lot of data, but language is more articulate and more lucid -- free from the boundaries of a physical world.
For example: "I love you."
And a video is 1000 words X 24 frames/second!
I disagree! It can be worth more.
At work someone can explain and explain a complex process and eventually it sinks in... However show me one flow chart and it's immediate. Try explaining a PowerPoint on a conference call while not showing the actual document..
<INSERT PORN JOKE HERE>
As a teacher I can attest that this is true. Students generally understand things they can see much quicker and with fewer words, than things you explain to them without a visual example.
A picture of a tree is worth a thousands words?
Leaf, leaf, leaf, leaf, leaf...
it never said a thousand different words
It depends who painted it. It also depends how much these words are worth. I'm part of the 1%.
I can never get to the literal one thousand words.
Nowadays pictures, to me, mean less; with all of the ways to change and photoshop a photo you never know if everything you see in the picture is true.
Well I think a picture worth 1000 words is true because 1 person could say this is beautiful and another person could say it's sad. So I agree.
Yah describing 1000 words about the art I believe it
I have pictures that are worth $1000. Any takers?
I agree, mostly, just not quite a thousand. I don't even have that in my bank account.
I'd like to think that a picture is worth much more than a thousand words, and that a word is worth millions upon millions of words and pictures.
Disagree, only because anything really is worth infinite amounts of words. But sometimes fewer words are more valuable in effect than a pointless thousand.
I'm 50/50 on this. Some pictures capture an image at a time that is priceless in what it conveys. Some pictures can be like written words and be taken out of context.
Yes they are.
Sometimes words can paint a picture no camera can
If you are on camera doing something, saying "I did not do that" 1000 times still doesn't disprove the picture, and that's like 5000 words! :)
Sometimes, and sometimes more or less than 1,000.
Boobs x 1000 =
Yes, but some pictures leave me speechless. And some words leave me with a picture.
A picture is worth a thousand words, but how much are words worth? Questions like this have haunted mankind since the beginning.
Words are worth 1/1000 of a picture.
Unless you are Maya Angelou.
Sometimes more! Sometimes less
I think words can paint beautiful pictures and the most inspiring thing I have ever observed was a written verse though I do appreciate art in its other mediums.
And every one of those words is Kodak.
No way. Maybe a hundred. Or twenty of mine.
Depends upon who's looking at it...
Disagree. A picture can be worth much more than a paltry thousand words.
Agree with what you say
Well, selfies are absolutely worthless.
It used to be worth a thousand. But since Obama took office it's only worth $250.
I think $250 is worth more than 1,000 words...
It depends on the subject. A really great landscape would be tough to adequately describe in 1,000 words, but a picture of how to do something as simple as drive a car is a few hundred words short of enough. If I can only have one, I choose words.
It certainly can be.
In most cases, yes.
I prefer books to art so no
No. It goes way beyond the flowers in the background and the two smiling kids in their best dressed clothes. Take a look at their eyes - the eyes never lie.
Takes up a thousand times the hard drive space too.
