Way back in 1957, when my dad was stationed at Fort Lewis.

As a matter of fact, I just got to Seattle this afternoon. Probably won't a lot of sightseeing in, but I've been here before for a week vacation so that's okay. How odd that would be a Q today!

It is lovely here! Perfect weather today. I spent all afternoon on the beach watching dogs & ppl walking on the shore. Sail boats & ferries. Fed a daily visiting seagull @ my host's patio. Watched grandaughter exploring the shore. Took pix! Great!

I'm doing a series asking if you've been to each metro area, going in order from biggest to smaller. It just happened to be Seattle's turn haha

Often. Other than Pike Place and the aquarium, I don't usually have much of a reason to fight the crowds there.

One of the best cities in the U.S. Although I like Vancouver better and it is just a little further north.

I agree. It's definitely one of the best cities in the country. I haven't been to Vancouver yet, but it's high on my list of places to go

Not a lot, I haven't traveled recently but what I remember is Virginia, Arizona, Oregon, Idaho, and I faintly remember Cali& florida. HBU?

I'm too lazy to list them lol. Basically everything west of the Mississippi River and Florida. Did you like any of those places more than Seattle?

Nice! And idk, all of them seem the same to me, I want to get back out and see more though!

Flowerpower, you're downplaying this city! It's so great!

The other day, I walked from my apartment to the nearby sculpture park. I sat down on a grassy slope to read. It was sunny and across the water in front of me, I saw snow capped mountains.

Behind me, I could see the Space Needle and some amazing sculptures. I read for a while, then walked back home.

Where else can you do that??

True true. I thought about it and realized that WA and a few other states touch the ocean, I never really realized that others didn't! So no beaches for them lol :(
But also mount rainier is beautiful but it freaks me out- I don't want it to erupt!

I think you'll be freaked out anywhere you go. I used I live in Missouri (aka Misery, terrible place, don't go) and tornados came through frequently. In the southeast, hurricanes. Southwest, earthquakes. You just have to roll the dice.

I like it for many reasons. I love CO, but would like to experience living somewhere else and Seattle is the place I've liked most so far. I would like to finish college first though, so it'll be awhile
