Yes, but it would have to be after years and years of it being out- so no time soon. Something as new as it is will run into so many issues I'm sure it'll be a while before they get a hold on it, although, I like driving. What would you do? Stare at the trees? ...sounds like a scary movie.

Except this is your own personal vehicle, and you don't have to fight to get the spot away from the homeless person who hasn't bathed, or the massive amount of communicable diseases that people with low immune systems are very susceptible to...so yeah same thing, sort of

I hate driving! So yeah totally, but the standards for drivers licenses should not be lowered and manual control should be an option, just in case!

As long as one can take manual control if needed it would be a good thing. Assuming all those caveats are true too.

This might lower the vision standards other standards to get license. Do this would actually might make it so I could get my license. I barely miss the standard now so this might give me greater independence.

I can't count the times I've dozed off while driving home after working all night. This would be soooo much safer for me and other people on the road with me.

that's how I feel about the tesla. right now it starts at 57 grand, but it's the first completely electric car that you'd actually be excited about driving. if it catches on, I expect this type of car will eventually become affordable for everyone.

It would nice to be driven around
No more DUIs
The roads will be safer with less idiots driving fast in rainy and snowy weather

I enjoy driving too much to have a fully automatic car. If it were part time, I might consider it because it would be helpful when tired or you've been drinking, etc.

I said no, but I would switch to yes if it had the ability to switch between "driverless" and me driving.

If I was emperor (this is sarcasm people, I'm a libertarian) i'd mandate that certain people HAD to let the computer drive for them because they're too stupid to handle the responsibility...and I don't wanna get hit because a soccer mom in her 2 ton SUV absolutely HAD to send that text right then.

Switch in a heartbeat. Nap while "driving", never worry about driving drunk, read in the car, etc etc etc. I'm in as soon as they exist.

...small thinkers. Or perhaps this forum isn't sufficient to flesh out the idea. The concept is workable, but not for a hundred years or so. Private ownership of cars and human controlled cars in congested areas is unworkable in the not so distant future. Think it through!

Tell people they aren't allowed in the city because it might cause a traffic jam? I'm sure that would do wonders for businesses on a Friday and Saturday night. Yes, we should control the masses so your trip to the deli isn't inconvenienced. Please, don't ever be in charge of anything of importance.

Gee looks like another stereotypical, judgmental, democrat. Maybe more republicans like to drive? Oh and it's a opinion question so there is no "right and wrong".
