JamJay ... you are right, but greed certainly reinforces selfishness.

CORPORATE greed....and we are too generous

I am offended that so many of you are not proud of this countries record of generosity.
I work hard every day - to make money.
Nothing wrong with this. I am not greedy because I make a lot of money.

generosity does not always nullify selfishness

@ComradeAlex you're not exactly tolerant of my opinion, are you? I'd rather have freedom and have to work for my material goods, than be oppressed by government and have enough to get by provided to me. Just saying.

The government's generous and lavish in it's programs and entitlements, as for taxes, it sure isn't generous to the taxpayers...

You tow the party line on Obamacare without even knowing the positive side of it. It's just socialism that same moronic rhetoric not thinking that it could solve a crisis in health care costs. And yes there is a health care crisis. Try listening to non biased views on it instead of parroting.

How many states lose money every year? The fed makes up the difference That money will dry up under Romney and local taxes will go up to fill the void. Once again jobs will be lost.

BriD- yes, there is a hatred of taxes. It's for simple reasons- the government isn't capable of spending it wisely!! And they take without asking in many cases (like O-care since SCOTUS deemed it a tax). They squander our money!!! I'd rather give to a charity that uses the $$$ wisely & efficiently.

At least Comrade is honest about his/her/its views. Most liberals attempt to hide their views so they don't appear to be so radical.

This stuff is so predictable by party. Dems hate the country and believe the worst in ppl and reps are opposite. Long live the GOP!

@ComradeAlex Thank you. It's about time one of of Commie Liberals spoke up about your hero Marx. Some here dance around it and call him a genius but you went right for it. I don't know why other Liberals can't admit that they love Marxism.

Aren't the dems generally less giving than repubs? Looks like the dems are describing America from their own lack of giving. Ie. Biden and Obama's charitable giving as a % is substantially less than Romney.

Greedy. We use the greatest amount of the oil. We have third world countries produce goods for paltry amounts. Citizens of those countries work long hours, 6-7 days a week. Often in labor camps, making in a month what some of us make in an few hours. All so we can have our "stuff"

This is depressing. Calling the USA greedy. Really? If you think we are greedy, you can leave. If you call America greedy even when we have troops over seas fighting due someone else's freedom? We help so many people, And I cannot believe this poll! Everyone who said greedy should be ashamed.

I agree with unholybable. And scce28jb has mistaken Americans to be the federal gov. How many times have you seen a homeless person and bought them a meal and sat down with them to chat? They are lonely people. I bet most would say never and I bet most of them claim to be Christian lol

ladestra Urban Conservative

We are extremely generous and not just with money, we always send in our ships & carrier groups to aid in disaster relief, Dr.s and meds to fight aids in Africa and we ARE the UN & while those Marxist have the nuts to bad mouth us it is our generosity that keeps us from leaving to be eaten alive.

Depends on where you live. If you live in the city... No sorry I don't have any change. Now if you're in the right community, people will go out of their way to help someone in need whether it be by donating money, items, time etc.
