Would you rather have your preferred Presidential candidate win - but you lose both houses of Congress and every other race - or would you rather win everything except the Presidency?

I'm sorry @angie, I though the fact that he thinks he can boss everyone around was dictatorial. What would you call that? It's certainly not leadership by example.

In this context, liberal means anti-gun, anti-religion, pro-perversion and pro-baby-murder. Is that clear enough?

Because governors and state assemblies often have significant powers over the details of the implementation of legislation.

I do for one. Obama has made some horrible, horrible appointments thus far. We can't afford to let him make any more.

President can't do much without Congress, and I don't trust Romney with a Democrat House and Senate any more than I trust the Democrat House and Senate.

11/05/12 8:56 pm

Everything else then the prez wouldn't be able to do much and even filibusters wouldn't work

11/05/12 3:31 pm

Prez chooses Supreme Court so Prez

11/05/12 12:09 pm

A. A president can't be impeached just because you don't agree with him.
B. Supreme Court justices are selected by the president so they are not part of winning everything else through the election.

11/05/12 12:00 pm

Actually the Supreme Court justices are selected by the president. They aren't elected.

I was gonna say president, but he doesn't have much say, if there's a lot of gridlock and bs going on..

Like the Arab Spring or assassinating a US citizen and his son without due process?

Is giving arms to another faction to fight your wars any better? BTW, Iraq received congressional and UN approval.

It says *everything* else. Congress, governors, legislatures, Supreme Court—everything that's not part of the Executive Branch. I'd certainly sacrifice the last for the former!

Here in OK, we have an option on our ballots to opt to vote for one party on every single topic without even thinking about it. I would love to see a change that requires more intellectual thinking on every subject individually rather than a measure of pride in one's general party's views.

My like minded congress would impeach your pres on so many levels, and my like minded Supreme Court would strike down any appeals or shoddy defense arguments and throw your pres out! :)

Do not forget the senate. They are all responsible for the mess. I am sick and tired of the blame game while they obstruct progress. Get rid of the obstructionist no good rubbish liars who like to blame while blocking. I have been watching you. We know who you are.

Presidency! If Romney gets the chance to appoint justices we might go back 50 years. This whole filibuster shit in congress is frustrating, but I can manage.

Yes, the president alone can not accomplish much. I would pick everything else, but the thought of Romney as president scares me.

Do you get two thirds majority in the house and senate?

11/04/12 7:28 am

We have a president who thinks he is a dictator.

11/04/12 7:26 am

The president does not get carte blanc with the supreme court. Nomination has to be approved by congress. Check how many Reagan and bush appointees never made it, and include the modern day lynching of Justice Thomas.

11/04/12 7:21 am

Congressional obstruction to presidential destruction.

11/04/12 5:14 am

Everything else.... Without a congress that agrees with the president, nothing will get passed. It's simple guys: checks and balances.

Because of executive orders I would prefer my guy in the White House. We know Obama goes around the other branches of government.

This president did what he could by executive order or nothing would have been done. And, not very many were done. Nothing unconstitutional.

This poll proves that at least 1/3 of Americans don't know a thing about how government is run.

Lol, obstruction or obstruction. Can't decide.

Our current president does anything he wants by executive order and ignores the constitution. For Obama, Congress is irrelevant. He must go.

If "every other race" includes local and state elections, I'm afraid I'd have to go with "everything else". If "every other race" is only Congress and national elections, I'd have to think about, but would lean towards President.

11/03/12 6:42 pm

Obama's issued over 900 Executive Orders. Some of which bypass Congress and/or usurp our Constitution. Can't imagine why you would worry about what Romney might do.

If you look at his history as governor, you'll find that, while people liked him as a candidate, once he took office, he was an entirely different animal.

I'm concerned by Romney's history in Massachusetts, and his statement (on his website) that he intends to issue a "series of executive orders". I don't trust that he would respect the will of the American public. At least in congress, there are limits.
