Inspired by HayleyS and Zod: Are you open to the idea of acknowledging another religion than your own, no matter which religion that might be, as our official religion and making laws based on it?

Me too. Let's just stay religiously neutral; works better that way.

I'm absolutely opposed to any official religion. If we're basing laws off a particular religion, we can't truly have religious freedom. The one thing I really do love about this country is its diversity. We should embrace it more, not less.

hey I don't want an official religion at all. but if 21% of respondents from Hayley's poll are ok with having christianity instated as an official religion, then I guess many thing need to be made clear, from my statement below to making the point

heck I found a song on youtube that, although sung, unfortunately, by a socialist, fits this situation, a parody of the french anthem using anti clerical language (I'll admit, its a bit out there, but at least its an opposite)

I find the idea of an "official" religion repugnant. It doesn't matter which one.

it being so graphic. The fact anyone actually WANTS that is disgusting, deplorable, core shaking, vomit producing bile worthy of a medieval monarchy or brutal dictatorship, not a republic that prides itself as freedom's bastion in the modern world.

We could make it a yearly raffle. Everybody puts their favorite religion in the basket and whichever one is picked gets put up on the billboard next to the Waffle House.

But no, I would not be willing to let any religion be the "official" religion even if I did agree with it.

One of the great things about America is we have neither an official language nor religion. Let's keep it that way.
