I don't know about some of you guys but I have a lot of inactive followers. Should Tony post a Show of hands "follow-me" poll for this month?
He usually does, but it seems like the new "hot" category and the shake for a random poll work as well or better for finding new people to follow.
Shake for random doesn't work for android though apparently.
I've been finding lots of interesting people with the Hot filter
That's true. But it does seem to be a lot of the same people. But there are newbies on there too which I like.
Despairs problem is that he keeps getting his questions thumbs downed so he can't seem to get on or stay on the hot list for very long.
ha...no! I also check out comments, ends up working like branches of a tree.
Very true. I usually find people I like by their comments.
Like you for example haha.
yeah, well I was easy, apparently I'm a comment whore who can't shut up :-D
That's the way I find most of the new people I follow. A really interesting comment catches my eye and I just follow them, if their questions aren't fun or there are way too many of them I can just unfollow. There are a lot of smart people here.
not only smart, but articulate and thoughtful! wonder combination.
Woot! Although I would also like to note that a tarnished SOH rep will haunt you forever.
I wish the shake for random polls worked on Android. I would use it all the time.
I just shook up: insomnisquirrel, TexasLonghorn, LPSohHVC, brandon200, dross, wvamerican, Antoinette, makem, aj1545, and katerose1 to get you started.
Yes, and I imagine he probably will.
Many people don't answer every question so the number of inactive people that follow you is probably a lot lower than the amount of people that don't answer a given question.
That's a possibility for sure; but it does suck when you have 300+ followers and you get 70 votes (maybe) on any given poll. Unless I share it for Despair, mwahahahah.
huh? please explain to a newbie
Tony used to post a monthly poll where we could all write ourselves a 250 character sales pitch and hope for the best. But he stopped, it seems.
