Is beer and liquor allowed to be sold on Sundays where you live?
yes, town set the opening time.
I'm reading some of these comments and it's like OMG take away my tobacco, nooooooo problem, but take away my booze, HELL no. I hate smokers, but I never heard of someone killing someone by smoking too much tobacco.
Probably not. But most stores aren't open on my city on Sunday anyway.
Only after 12!
12 at night?
In the morning
Lived in Arkansas for 7 years - No booze on Sunday! You've got to be kidding me!!!
In some restaurants, but not in stores.
Only in the past 10-15 years I believe? My grandmother said they didn't when she was my age.
Are you kidding? :-))
Guess I should have said for 49 states..:-)
Anything and everything all day long , everyday.
Not between 2am and 6am.
Right. They do not sell alcohol between those hours. (Which is odd).
Yes but only beer and wine after Noon.
Not till noon...
No and it's total bullsh*t!
I honestly don't know. But I assume yes.
I didn't know that was a thing
Yeah. This isn't communist Russia.
Beer is five or six am until midnight. Hard liquor only until 9.
yes, and blue laws are IMO wrong and arguably unconstitutional
They are states that hate freedom.
What is to gain from such laws? I never realized that there are such differences in state laws. Lol
I thought it was more prevalent in the Bible Belt states but apparently it's spread out all over the country. In Florida the same rules apply for lottery tickets, no sales on Sunday until noon.
Yes, but apparently only since 2008.
Also I'm not sure if alcohol sales are restricted to liquor stores except 3.2 beer (on any day), but they were until recently.
Of course why shouldn't it be. I hate blue laws
Yes, but I'm pretty sure it is restricted to the same hours as bar hours, (6 am - 2 am). That 4 hour gap makes zero sense to me, especially when those are prime hours to grab more beer on your way to an after-hours party or going out fishing.
Only started being legal on Sundays in CT 1 or 2 years ago, not after 5pm though.
Dry county makes no sense to me, but yes.
Yes, but not before or after certain times of the day.
After 12:30, yes
Any time everywhere in my part of the country. I honestly was not aware of all the odd restrictions that are discussed here. How do big stores eg Costco handle such rules?
If you go through the line with alcohol at any store before noon on Sunday here, they will just set your alcohol under the counter and tell you it's against the law to sell it until 12pm.
I never heard of such a thing. It's 2014.
I couldn't agree with you more. Not everyone agrees that Sunday is "the Lord's day"...or that alcohol and "the Lord's day" don't go together. Yayyy Bible Belt! Lol
It that is the reasoning shouldn't it be a choice not a law. I support freedom of religion but not a law such as this.
Beer can be, but hard liquor cannot.
Beer yes, liquor no.
Wow, you got some real freedom there in OK.
Lol! As long as you don't need a bottle of Jack, or buy a car on Sunday, you're good to go here in the big OK!! ;-).
24/7 365 here in sin city
I live in a dry county so alcohol sales are never allowed. 20 miles to the nearest liquer store.
I said yes..
Personally I think it's stupid if you sell one why not sell the other
Key West had the restriction not before noon but dropped it a while ago to make it 7am-4am daily. I think ANY restrictions are a load of bull. If something is legal, it shouldn't be legal only sometimes.
Agreed. One by here that ticked me off was a grocery that had their liquor license taken away a few years back. Not because of anything they did, but because a school moved in to the area.
I agree. Royal Palm Beach is having a vote soon to allow alcohol beverages to be sold on Sundays all day long.
After noon it can be sold. Before then, nope. Lotto tickets are not sold Sunday mornings.
Yes, but only after 12pm. Silly.
