In order to receive an A for the mile run in my gym class, boys had to run the mile in under 8 minutes while girls had to run it in under 10 minutes. Fair?

Running is one of those things that on average girls and boys are similar until you get into the highly competitive arenas and even then some girls kick my butt. It's sexist plain and simple

I'd fail. I've never had a mile faster than 10:00

It's fair. Ever seen race times? Womens times are always slower than mend. We're just built differently. In some areas we excel over men, and in other areas men excel over us. I embrace the differences!

Sounds like everyone should get an A. Guys need to buck up and quit wanting to be females.

8 minutes for boys? At which elementary school?

Cool. Looks like you get an A in middle school and a B at my highschool.

Requirement for men in high school was 6 minute mile. Women were 7 or 8-I can't remember.

They must be lowering standards.

Sure. The sexes are equal in value, but not equivalent in everything. Females excel at different athletic events than males do. And frankly, I would rather watch women's gymnastics and figure skating than men's any day.

Maybe the girls would run faster if they all ran at the same time. Just kidding. The muscles are different. Brains are different. Shorter feet. Whatever.

I'd like that at our school. Running is hard for me so I usually take 11 minutes and up

Same thing in the military. Less push-ups, sit-ups, and run time.

That would be like saying that guys only had to answer a 40 question test but the girls had to answer a 50 question test. Not fair for girls. Schools should hold same standards for all students
