Today is World Cancer Day. Has anyone in your immediate family (parents, siblings, children, yourself) ever had cancer?
Mom had breast 3 times. Dad had colon twice. Both narrowly survived.*graphic* my dads anus was seen shut and he uses a pouch attached to his side.
No, but move out a degree and I have 2 of 4 grandparents and an uncle who have lost the battle and another grandparent who is a survivor. Also, several friends who are survivors (and only in their 30's).
17 year old niece is expected to be terminal. Starting a new experimental drug March 9 that will hopefully give her a couple more quality years.
My father and grandmother but both had successful operations
Mother lost a breast, father has terminal colon cancer, sister has colon cancer, a brother died in 2006 from lung cancer, and another brother died last year from bone cancer. I am the only one that has not had cancer....yet.
My stepfather, I know it's not immediate but we were very close, he treated me like a son.
My mom had breast cancer and beat it. She later had multiple myeloma and passed away from an infection during a treatment procedure. Luckily, for her, it was fairly quick, and it wasn't the slow agonizing way that cancer tends to take people.
