Two surprise parties, about $400 cash, and my crush spontaneously showed up to one of my parties. BEST. BIRTHDAY. EVER!

My mom dropped the cake, my dad blamed the family's shortcomings on my brothers and I, but I got a bag of gumballs!

Got you all beat. I got arrested. Boy were my parents proud. Everything turned out ok and all charges were dropped. It was the one and only time I got in trouble with the police.

Man, I can't believe it will have been 10 years next week.

Flew solo in a helicopter on my birthday! That was fun! Made it on the evening news and the front page of the news paper the next day! :)

Not for my 16, in Mexico we celebrate the 15th birthday (quinceañera) and it's almost like a wedding. I wore a beautiful dress and had a big party with my friends and family.

Drank a lot. I wouldn't call that special though

I had a pool party with some extended family and some friends, but that was about it.

It's hard to remember but I'm sure it was just another day. Age 16 plus one month was special. Got my drivers license. Age 21 :). Age 40 was interesting, mid life crisis is real. Age 60, my family gave me a surprise birthday. I'll be 65 soon.

I don't remember. I probably spent the day shopping in Manhattan. I spent most of my teenage birthdays that way.

I'd just broken up with my bf, soooo I pretty much just stayed home and did homework.

No. I've never done anything extraordinarily special for a birthday. It's just another day once you're born. I don't see them as important.

Not really. I went to a local play with some friends.

No. My mom decided to vacation with my HORRIBLE aunt on my birthday, and it was just miserable. I was so upset and it was emotionally taxing. I don't lose my temper easily and I almost never yell, but I lost it and I screamed at her.

I spent my entire day at the DMV getting my learners permit then cried when no one took me to drive so I mean there's that.

Went and got my driver's license, then spent the day with a few cousins and my brother. Nothing special, but a lot of fun.

I didn't, but many kids used to take their drivers test on that day, and some solo in aircraft.

Had my first kiss! At the beach! It was pretty lame, but in a sweet way.
