Agree. A united people who are well-armed, well-trained, and well-supplied are a significant deterrent to any aggressor.

Agree but only to a small extent. For example, the US oligarchy takes things way too far (let's be real people, this is hardly a democracy anymore).

No. I could understand the argument that you need to be prepared for war to *maintain* peace, but *preparing* for peace strikes me as a totally different thing.
