Do you consider a girl wearing just panties and a bra to be equally appropriate to wear in a public setting as a girl wearing just a two-piece swimming suit?

For all I care people could walk around naked. No one should be ashamed of their body. Someone could get aroused with someone wearing granny dresses. People can get aroused anywhere anytime so why not allow people to walk around in under garments

Yes, and in many cases the only real difference is what she paid for them.

I've never understood the difference, to be honest.

Is it equally appropriate for a man to wear a button down shirt or a Mister Roger's sweater to a very fancy restaurant? No. Even if they cover the same area? No.

Well, I thought we were just about at the end if the pendulum swing. From ankles, to knees, to thighs, to "sighs", can the hem line get any higher? by golly yes, it can just disappear and all you can see is her re......ar

Depends on the cut and the fabric. Some underwears have a kind of quantum superposition, whereby they both exist and do not exist simultaneously...

I'd say it's a little more personal, social context and all.

They can do whatever the hell they want. Screw these societal etiquette laws.

No. While the material covers the same area, the intent is more sexual. Same for boxers. One of my kids made the argument that to go out in the yard in boxers/boxer briefs is the same as wearing swim trunks. Not so. Underwear gives off dif. vibes.

Well someone can wear a bikini that is two sizes to small and their breasts hang out. But that's not illegal.

Women are capable of making their own decisions. We shouldn't make laws to protect them.

Only if she's swimming. I don't consider any kind of swimsuit on anyone "appropriate" for public setting unless it's a beach or pool. But yes, underwear is the same as a bathing suit.

Is a pair of boxers the same thing as swim trunks?

No.

I guess it depends on the style. It can be a little hypocritical, but just knowing what the purpose of the outfit is has a pretty big impact on how appropriate it is.

I don't like bikinis in public either, but for some reason undies sounds so much worse. Which is pathetic bc they're exactly the same thing!!

That's going to completely depend on the undergarments and the swimsuit!!
