Temptation is the internal fight humans have to decide whether or not to do something not necessarily good or right.
Having a choice between right and wrong.
Is it so easy as being just a simple choice my friend? How are you btw?
I am great!
Not easy really, because many times the choices are powerful. Temptation at its core is spiritual welfare imo.
What do you think?
Hmmm. I think that temptation is a thing that makes sin look pretty in exchange to get us to commit it. If sin always looked ugly I wager few would commit it. It looks beautiful, seems like a good (maybe the best) idea. It is attractive. Seductive.
It's subtle, patient, and knows the weak spots. A good relationship with God and a strong knowledge and time spent in the Word provides a better way of escape but i think it is much more then mere choice.
But I agree spiritual welfare is a key aspect in the battle of temptation.
Seductive is a great descriptive word. And we have to remember that satan wants Christians to fail, because it makes Christianity look like a failure to the rest of the world.
Mhm. "Satan will offer the same things that God does—only with a shortcut to ensnare you. Just like he offered Jesus a crown without the Cross."
If he can't have us he will try to make us as unusable as possible
In a religious or secular context?
Secular: Anything that makes us desire something.
Religious: Anything that removes your focus from God.
Being married and stranded on a desert island with either Scarlet Johansson, Uma Thurman, Wynona Ryder or Kirsten Dunst. how do I describe failure? Same situation with Drew Barrymore.
You know right from wrong by the age of 6.
being pressured to take an action
Hm. I'm often tempted without pressure. In fact, I can't say pressure has much to do with it. Temptation is more like desire.
I suppose so, I think that it's a little of both. Someone can tempt you, and that's where the pressure comes in. but things can be tempting on their own, which is desire.
how about when you have two competing desires, the desire to not do drugs, versus the desire to fit in. or the desire to not be a thief, versus the desire to not pay for that shirt.
That's pressure rather than temptation. Pressure is an outside influence. Temptation I see as purely an internal thing. You might already be tempted, but pressure might convince you to make the choice.
Yeah, I think that your right
Temptation: Not necessarily a bad thing.
Not if your thinking in music terms, the temptations lol
I'm sure she would be flattered, thank you
