Rarely without prompting. But there is a morning prayer over the intercom at school, so that much at least enters my thoughts, but mostly so far as I make sure the girls quiet down to listen respectfully.

No. Very rarely will I ponder the existence of some god.

Not even close. It's really only when people ask on SOH.

Depends what you mean by the word "about". I do not trouble my mind with godly or religious thinking too often anymore. However, god is almost always near my thoughts - like "out and about".

Not on my own. Maybe prompted by SoH or news.

When I think of God, I just go to his Facebook page for a good laugh.

More than I used to, mainly because the topic crops up on SOH one way or another.

I frequently contemplate the big questions, but rarely within the restraints of any one religion.

Not necessarily the Christian God, but the concept and history of religion(s) yes.

If it wasn't for Show of Hands I don't think it would come up more than once a week. It's not something I feel the need to dwell on.

Yes. Not about religion as a concept. But, I do think about God at least once a day.

Pretty much only when Show of Hands reminds me that religion or the concept of God is out there.

You know I don't really know that much about how prevalent religion is in Alaska. I guess it isn't as big of a deal there?

Honestly I don't think of much in Alaska...Jk! (Kinda)

I asked because show of hands is definitely not the only place that God gets talked about in my life lol
But I live in the Bible Belt haha

Alaska is quite conservative and religious from my understanding.

There actually aren't many atheists here. Christianity is very common but everybody has a "mind your own business" attitude about most everything here. So you don't catch a lot of the "ram it down your throat" types. It's nice.

Don't let Sarah Palin be your idea of Alaska, please! Most of us here dislike the woman and wish she would mind her own damn business. Alaskans pride themselves on not forcing out beliefs onto others. The state constitution puts a right to privacy

above almost everything else here. Only the vocal idiots like Palin feel the need to force their religious views onto others, and thankfully Alaska doesn't have many of those...

I in no way think you Alaskans are like her. But I've heard from people who have lived up there that Alaska is religious and conservative for the most part, not proselityzers but religious conservatives for the most part.

If not for polls on SOH or the occasional news event involving a church scandal, I don't think I would give much thought to either one, ever.

How's everything religion-wise going for you?

thewheel
02/02/14 2:12 pm

Religion:
: the belief in a god or in a group of gods
: an organized system of beliefs, ceremonies, and rules used to worship a god or a group of gods
: an interest, a belief, or an activity that is very important to a person or group
