In your K-12 years, did you ever rely on a school bus for regular transportation to and from home and school?

I lived about 20 minutes away. My grandparents both worked. There was no other way to get to and from school.

I always wanted to ride the bus to school but, my mom and dad wanted to spend as much time with me as they could. They took me to school every day and looking back I'm happy they did I love my parents so much :)

I took a regular city bus through the first grade, then a dedicated school bus for the rest of it. Some of those years I only lived a few miles from school, so I walked or rode my bike if I felt like it, but the bus was always available.

I walked as little under a mile to elementary school, Jr High I could have walked but took a bus (just over a mile) but my High School was 7 miles away so I definitely took the bus until I could drive myself.

Only kindergarten. We were right at the cut off. I liked it though. It was a 7 block walk. High school more than double that.

No. I had things called legs.

Me too. We lived 30 miles from school after we moved (5th grade).

yep. Living in rural America means you have to have a vehicle.

I don't even recognize the area I grew up, now. When we moved there were cows and rice fields that geese would fill every winter. They transformed the fields to oceans of noisy white (a new color!).

No. I lived three blocks from elementary, six from JrHi and by then the mile to SrHi was just habit.

Nope. The only time I ever got to ride a school bus was when we went on a field trip. Back then I was so jealous of the bus riders. lol

Too funny, Katz. Do you remember what privilege they got that you didn't?
