Maybe not libertarian in all cases but there are a lot of choices out there besides republican and democrat.

You know what, I'm not sure! A lot of conservatives were upset about the deal but I don't know what I would have done in that situation besides be tougher on the dems and forced them to compromise

The blame falls on us because we believe in working for your keep, we understand the concept of taxes unlike the dems, they want schools and roads but don't want to pay for them

This "compromise" will add $3.9 trillion to the deficit according to the CBO.
Where is the compromise?
If taxes went up on everyone, it would not be the end of the world, despite what the media hyped it would be.

The Republicans knew that, thanks to our biased media, they would be blamed if we went over the fiscal cliff. Republicans are having to battle democrats and the biased main stream media. Yes republicans have their problems but, IMO, I'm proud my party doesn't have moons like Reid and Pelosi.

Cshuey, I like your statement. I'm actually very informed politically, but its funny how people with simple, common sense perspectives are painted as simpletons or naive. People think that politics has to be complicated, convoluted, and full of compromise to make it sexy, educated, and refined.

Compromise is only good when the compromise puts us closer to the right solution. We've been compromising in the wrong direction for 50 years when it comes to the purse strings. Bad compromise is how we got to this point.

Wheres the compromise here? We raised taxes on people making over $400 thousand ($450 thousand joint) and got absolutely nothing in return. And 77% of Americans had there taxes go up for social security/medicare. Meanwhile no spending cuts. Again, where's the compromise?
Ummmmm

I'm surprised that so many people votes yes. A compromise was needed for the greater good.
You don't get all that you want in a compromise. That's what a compromise is.

The fiscal cliff would have actually cut spending and forced all Americans to pay for the government they voted for. It's too bad Boehner threw that opportunity away.

Do you even know why they stopped they delayed it? Because the bill was useless, it didn't help any victims of sandy. If you want your tax money wasted don't include me.

Obama is deliberately trying to destroy us. I liked what Bohner had to say to Harry empty head Reid today : "Shut the F--- up!" It's about time. A little late, but a welcome change in tone. Our next speaker needs to get in Obama's face and publicly challenge him. They had better do it.

Typical Libtard Ace! When will you people finally get it that we don't care what you think? What you think makes no impact on my world and is useless to me. I mean you live in an Obama cult follower dream world all the time.STFU.The question was for REPUBLICANS not liberal gimme class scum like you.

I like going on these "Republican only" polls. I enjoy not seeing pure stupidity on these polls. I like it! We should have more so I can sleep at night because I wouldn't have to think about "what makes this guy want higher taxes and other things that will completely ruin his life and our country."

Perhaps having $15 billion worth of pork in the Sandy relief bill gave them pause for concern. Perhaps not giving the liar in chief unlimited control over the debt ceiling and spending gave them pause for concern. Perhaps you are the type that wants the government to wipe your ass for you.

Thank goodness for the Lamepublican Party. Please continue your irrational, obstructionist, pigheaded bull$hit. Just means more votes for dems. They can't even vote on relief for Sandy victims. Apparently those idiots like flinging themselves off political cliffs

As of today I have decided to leave the Republican Party. The spineless fools are giving the Socialist everything he wants to destroy this nation at a rapid pace. How can the Obama voters be happy with the monster they placed in the White House? On the other hand, how can the Republicans? RIP USA.

Republicans strut around like a rooster because they've slowed our approach to the cliff from 70 mph to 68 mph (which they didn't even do that in this new deal), when real change means putting the car in reverse and backing away from disaster. It's not a victory to merely slow our descent.

I believe both parties have a "Thelma and Louise" approach to our nation's finances. The Dems want to barrow, tax and spend like there's literally no tomorrow, building a huge government, and the repubs want to do it too, but at 45 mph instead of 75.

I wish I still had that much faith. I don't believe the American people are up to the task of governing themselves anymore. Most people's involvement, education, and deliberation of political matters is surpassed by a 30 second campaign spot. I think we deserve everything that'll be coming our way.

Yes. America needs to step up and take its medicine. When election time rolls around again we're going to realize that we made a mistake and a lot of people are going to lose their seat.

Ha. Like that will happen. Here's my next prediction. Talks will begin for the next debt ceiling increase. Democrats will get the increase and the republicans will either get nothing or a token amount of 100 billion in cuts phased in over the next 20 years, subject to executive override.

Some days I think "Fight the Power" and think we should strive to stay unique and awesome and not try to become another Europian like country.
Then other days I think "Roll Over, Play Dead, and Wait for the Idiots to Figure It Out." Then just pray they figure it out before it's too late.

I'm a die hard conservative and I'm damn sick and tired of the Republican Party. I may leave it and become independent. I'm sick of the damn repubs campaigning on conservative principles and then going to DC and doing just the opposite. SCREW THEM.
