Followup for Family Dollar shoppers: do you usually shop there for things you want, or for things you need?
I've bought cleaning supplies and candy for the movies there..
A 5 year old in a dollar store with $3=happy kid!!
*stock, not stick
I try avoid Family Dollar. The ones I've been to in several different cities were all very dirty and the staff was generally pretty unfriendly and/or not knowledgable. I can usually find their stick cheaper at Walmart anyway.
Always telling my hubby "we don't need that". Try very hard to only by what is needed within 3-6 months.
Usually cheap gift bags, baloons, hair products, and kids toys
Things I need and I know won't last long. Wrapping paper, pot holders, etc.
Mostly to get birthday balloons etc
Definitely an "oh crap" shopping trip. You know, "oh crap" I need this and forgot to pick it up while I was out. I suppose I'll run out real quick and get it. Guess what the closest store is? Yep. Family Dollar
I go there for Easter basket and stocking stuffers, and cookie tins when I want to give baked goods as gifts.
I do not really go there for things I want. I go there for gift bags and also get cheap holiday decor. I will not buy too much food.
I mostly buy groceries and bottled water that are cheaper than the big box stores.
Things I need and only want to spend $5. Walk out charging $25 on credit card :(
Things I need and then spend $20 extra on non essentials. They bank on people like me. $$$$$
Go there to get cheap stuff find some cookies i WANT
Need- ziplock bags, foil, toothpaste.
If I'm shopping there for something I need, it's usually something that I need in a pinch and don't want to have to drive all the way to an actual store.
I basically always shop for what I want. If I need something, I get the kind I want.
