The UN is (and has always been) a precursor to the development of a One-World Government. All of the decisions made there since its inception has pushed the world closer to that reality. There is nothing helpful about the UN.

I'm a Marine who was sent to Haiti after the earthquake, the UN reps that were sent in with us did some dirty stuff. I specifically remember them taking the food, water & clothing we handed out and then SELLING it to the Haitians. There wasn't a damn thing we could do about it either.

I'm registered and vote independent, FYI.
I'm allowed to party bash, at the very least its an American right to free speech. Wtf is this blog for if I can't fire off a personal opinion on why the stats are so skewed. Esp if its towards the esteemed "GOP" bullsh!t establishment!

Anyone ever notice how the news NEVER covers stories of Palestinians launching missiles at Israel (almost on a daily basis) or suicide bombings, shootings, executions, rape, murder, etc. by Hamas-backed Palestinians, but if Israel launched ONE missile in retaliation or defense.....

What has the UN done? Besides blame us and Israel? Any serious body would not let a psycho like Ahamadinejad speak at their convention. Especially in America.

Democratically elected? Why do the people that America see as good the only ones allowed in? Might as well have said "White people only, I trust them to lead America." Diversification, my friend.

That info is always current month, as is Wikipedia's assertion that just leads back to the same site. Since UN began, US has contributed more financially and militarily than any other nation, and it is only because we are resented for our power that we don't send more (don't want to appear imperial)

Well, when it tries to do something, the US blocks it, because Republican congressmen know people like you hate the UN. You can't cripple an organization through your own contempt of it and then call it a failure.

Somewhat related - don't you hate it when the media say that "UN troops" do some good in the world, but it takes really researching to realize that the vast majority are Americans? Canadians and Australians, you're cool too.

Just because UN resolutions and votes are sometimes wrong doesn't mean it's harmful - it just means that a majority of countries have made their voice be heard. It harmful if we Americans (or any Democratic country) are beholden to the UN - which we are unquestionably not.

Rwanda, Bosnia, Somalia, Congo, Liberia, Sierra Leone. Lets ask them how helpful they were. The list is longer, the UN is a paper tiger.

We should form an organization of democratically elected nations & get out of the U.N. Put our funds to better use than the U.N.'s out of control budget.

The UN is not much more than a forum to criticize the USA, which we pay most of the bill that supports this organization. There are plenty of people that will criticize us for free, shut the UN down and save the money.
