There are a few great tv shows (breaking bad, doctor who, the office. At least for me) but there are far more great movies.

Well, sometimes there is nothing good on tv BUT movies. And also it is much cheaper to rent movies than buy tv episodes.

if I can watch Netflix.. I'd watch old TV shows like X-FILES, ER, I Love Lucy, I Dream of Jeannie plus new ones like Walking Dead, Sons of Anarchy, Justified and more...

I first said movies, but I came up with one (what I think could be considered as a) loophole.
Would the daily news/weather on the local channel be considered a TV show? It's not really for entertainment, but for information. And there really aren't "news movies" that are current information...

Movies because commercials suck.
Unless I dvr everything...which I generally do, but snooky and other just plain stupid shows ruined tv for me.
Only a few awesome ones I enjoy.

Selected TV programs. I record my favorite shows like COPS, and Coast Guard Alaska. Shows where people are making a real difference in this world.

I voted for TV, but I'm a retired newspaper and internet movie critic. Saw Les Miserables today and it should win every category at this year's Oscars. Flat-out amazing! As for TV, my favorite was House M.D. And I love Big Bang Theory!

Sherlock, Doctor Who (old and new), Slings and Arrows, The Daily Show, A Bit of Fry and Laurie, The Office, The I. T. Crowd, Black Adder, How I Met Your Mother, The Big Bang Theory, Once Upon a Time, SNL... I spend too much time watching TV but I balance it with reading and studying so it works.

I watch more documentaries on the science channel then anything. I could live without movies as long as I still have those.

I definitely agree! Though I would choose Breaking Bad over sports (and I absolutely love watching football, basketball, and hockey). When I chose TV over movies it was bc I had BB, dexter, californication, prison break, lost etc in mind and they beat out my favorite movies.

I totally dig Breaking Bad, one if the great shows in the history of television! However, I picked "TV" for another reason:
