Do you know how many opportunities you can get from learning all those languages?
And what do you get from eating all you want?

I just don't get this question. They're so different from each other I don't know how to compare them at all.

..health measure, to keep people from getting diseases, notably trichinosis.
So when visiting those places, it might not be a great idea to allude to the high esteem in which they hold pigs...

I think you may be thinking of Hindus & cows. Both Jews & Muslims are prohibited from eating pork (and a number of other things) by their holy texts, apparently because they were considered "dirty" - they eat garbage. It's thought now that this prohibition was likely a primitive but wise public...

I would freakin rock at amazing race if i could learn languages like that. Starting with latin, i would move to chinese, japanese, indian, swahili, arabic, russian, french, spanish, portuguese, italian, german, and so on. Latin is a good basis for learning other languages and I already know some.

Speak. Having that ability would be an indication of super intelligence, so if I was that smart I would be more than capable of learning how to eat a healthy diet that tastes good too.

@susanr, I certainly took this into account. For those societies that hold the common pig in such high esteem, that it becomes an act of sacrilege to kill, cook, or eat, I totally get it! My stay in these locales will be BRIEF, I'll offer my respect, and move onto a bacon-consuming country!

Sure of you like that. I'm simply saying that food is a more basic and common pleasure than learning languages. Most of us will never even get a chance to use them though we eat everyday. And that is why most pick food instead of languages.

I'd love to eat anything and stay healthy doing so. Trying to eat foods that are good for you can be expensive. And for those who say "well I can eat whatever and not gain weight" that still doesn't mean it's healthy for you.

Assuming you're 43 and live in Cali but maybe not southern Cali you might be ok!
I live in Chicago and have gotten turned down for numerous jobs because I didn't speak Spanish or polish.
