Exactly my thoughts. Wars are expensive and always have added to the deficit and debt. Other things like large natural disasters can also add to the deficit and I would not want the working on those items while their jobs were in jeopardy.

Too extreme. Could imagine a situation where deficit spending is required ( war time) and it would not be a great idea to wipe the government.

I'm disappointed in my fellow libertarian/republicans... We should be able to elect who we want. Think of a situation where conservatives have minority and because of that, fiscal irresponsibility happens despite the conservatives' best effort. Should they be ousted for the foolishness of others?

It sounds nice (all for it), but I'm pretty sure the law has to pass congress, no? it'll the bill will die in the house, despite the legislative justice it grants the people.

Jonny, you're ignorant. You can refer to those who advocate financial responsibility by a derogatory homosexual term ... So, are you a faggot?

What about our "great" so called president as well as members of congress. They don't pay taxes either but they vote themselves a raise.

I think it is a great idea. The people are not holding congress to anything since the same losers keep getting reelected. Also they don't get paid unless they balance the budget each year unless we are in a declared war.

This is idiotic. We don't elect officials to help the rich earn more money, although that is what most of these corrupt congressmen do.

It will never happen as long as Progressives are in power. Progressives won't be happy until the United States resembles a third world nation.

Thinking about the defense budget, it's over $700 billion, we should be able to fight 2 wars and then some.
$700 billion is a lot of money, I guarantee there is pork in there, this doesn't include the pork laden entitlement programs.

So you like the fact our "do nothing" congress is spending money we do not have and our "great president" just gave them all raises (they make over 174,000 and do nothing today) with money we are borrowing and they (millionaires themselves) accept it. STUPID so called president.

When did Warren become eligible to vote for anything? I thought he lived in the private sector? Oh yeah, his buddy, BHO, lets him write a law or two a year! Ha ha ha...

This will never get passed since the people it's talking about get to vote on it. This should go to a general election and let the people vote. Same goes for raises for federal workers.

That's why I say it doesn't matter if it's wartime. No loopholes. If there is a loophole they will manage to form it into a black hole lol. War can be run on a budget. Sacrifices will have to be made in other areas. Perhaps "wartime austerity"?

You mean the process would be exactly like it is now? Nothing gets done and no one knows what they are doing.
