Depends on how the person tells me. If they have even a hint of a smile I'll congratulate. If they're complaining about it or are crying then I'll cry with them.

My mom asked my brothers girlfriend that. My jaw actually dropped... It became quite clear in that moment that not only did my mom still not have a brain/mouth/kindness filter, but that she didn't know the girl well at all.

Okay, anyone in my close family. My uncle tried to talk me into it with my older daughter. So did my husband's uncle. Both pathetic womanizing men. One to the point it earned him a divorce.
