Of all the presidents, would you say Obama's speech ability is that of the "better" speakers?
He's a horrible speaker.
What makes you say that?
He's the only president that I can no longer stand to watch on TV nor can I stand to listen to.
Reagan was so overrated. His corny voice out me to sleep. And his famous quotes were all written by others. Peggy Noonan even write his eulogy for the Challenger astronauts. Total fake.
Definitely in the top three or four I've heard, but that doesn't say anything about his ability as a president. Reagan was in the top five too, and we all know how that went.
Yeah I wasn't talking about his lack of presidential skill.
The best were Abraham Lincoln and Ronal Reagan.
He has a good speech writer, he is a good reader, not speaker. Example, first (and really all) debates
All presidents have good speech writers. His demeanor is very academic (he is a professor by trade, after all), which some may find stiff. But if you can appreciate his more eggheaded demeanor, he's a good speaker in that vein.
I personally cannot stand when he speaks he says two words, pause, two words, pause. I find many times asking him to get to the point so I can just disagree with him
Hehehe. I now have this image in my head of Obama as Captain Kirk. His cadence does take on a Shatnerian quality at times ;-)
Romney "won" the first debate so that is the only one that counts? Obama kicked his butt in the last two, and cruised to an easy victory. I'd say 2 out of 3 is not to bad.
I'd say he's a very good speaker, and it's a good quality for any president to possess.
Whether or not people agree with what's being said - if you can't convey it properly, it makes it exponentially more difficult to even attempt to understand.
Maintaining any approval with the country in the state it is takes a great deal of charisma
He's an amazing speaker. Probably his most dangerous characteristic. You have to catch yourself before you agree with what he's saying when you realize: A) he probably doesn't mean the majority of it, B) sometimes he elaborately says nothing.
He's the smoothest talker I've ever seen.
I'd give that to Clinton
