😳 According to the Marine Times the First Female Marine has earned a Recon MOS. She deserves our highest respect ✊ I have no doubt she’s truly a BadAss Hand Salute and Oorah!!!
Every Marine Recon I met was a legit badass. Mad props to anyone who can complete that training. Doubly so if it’s a woman that met an equal standard. I would be honored just to shake her hand.
Likewise, and I too have known more than several Marine Recon fellows. Genuine BadAsses all 😊 much respect ✊ and they .....the fellas I’ve known are why.
Exactly. Consider how many men don’t make it through this course. Impressive indeed.
Also, that’s one chick I wouldn’t pick a fight with, and I’m trained to scrap! 😂
Oh, I know for a fact I couldn’t make it through that training, even in my prime!
From a physiological standpoint (no slight to the ladies), she is truly amazing!!
I agree 100% in the prime best shape of my life I couldn’t make it through. She has my highest respect.
Yep, she’s a badass. If I were serving with her I’d give her due respect. I hope her fellow servicemen do the same.
Also, hats off to the other two servicewomen to be the first in their accomplishments (in the article)!
I agree with both of you. Good for her, and what a feat for anyone.
Good for her!

It says female 😊 couldn’t be anything else.
They probably lowered the standards like the Army did
😂 were you ever in the Army?
My IQ is above 75 so no
😊 mine too and I was in the Army.
If your IQ was that high than you would have joined the Air Force or Coast Guard
You can’t join any us service with a low IQ.
How do you think the Marines formed?
😊 I’m thinking you’re gonna tell us, right?
Excuse me Luft?
I can't believe you guys don't know military branch stereotypes. Are you sure you served lol?
Marines and Army are known for being dumb
Air Force for being Smart
Navy for being Gay
Coast Guard for not being a branch
🤔 there we go I was thinking there must be some Marines here. 😊
You’re not really gonna get a rise with that line of inquiry 😊
Do which branch did you serve in you worthless fuck?
Squid demonstrates that the Navy stereotype of being gay is true with the amount of butthurt coming from him.
Know from experience, Luft?
Luft...my father was in the army and was an intelligent man. I have no idea where you get some of the crap you come off with.
Why the fuck are people taking this so seriously lol.
It's stereotypes in the military.
Army and Marines = Less intelligent and treated like shit
Navy = Gay
Air Force = Nerds who have good living conditions
I will say there's truth in the stereotypes though. You don't need a high Asvab score to be in the Army..
Air Force: sayingimages.com/wp-content/uploads/military-training-airman-air-force-memes.jpg
Great examples, I believe you could find just about any kind of a picture making fun of just about anything. Good try though.
Luft people here are serious about the military ....you’re fighting a loosing issue. 😊
I don’t think he’ll understand that.
Neither do I but it needs to be said. 😊
71% of eligible aged people aren’t smart or fit enough to join the military. www.heritage.org/defense/report/the-looming-national-security-crisis-young-americans-unable-serve-the-military
So then they spend the rest of their sad, worthless lives mocking those that can meet the standard.
Yeah you're right. No branches of the military have a stereotype attached to them. All are treated equally as far as living standards and traits go.
In fact I made up every military stereotype and posted on the internet thousands of memes related to the issue and I'm the person behind every YouTube military vlogger who makes the same jokes.
The military is a great organization that definitely doesn't have a stigma of lots of alcoholism, premature marriages, bureaucracy, and backwards logic
The standard of passing a test modeled after 9th grade common knowledge (Asvab)
The ability to do less than a 14 min mile and a half or a bike test, 30 pushups, and 40 situps. And most importantly the ability to lie at MEPs.
Almost impossible to get into, you're right Squid.
So you know this because ....🤷🏻♂️
It's common sense
No it’s not it relies on conjecture or some basis in fact or it’s irrelevant 🤷🏻♂️😎
It’s his ridiculous opinion.
This is a pretty dumb discussion. I made a joke about the Army and Marines being stereotypically dumber than the Air Force and Coast Guard. Then every former military member wants to go full GI Joe on me, acting like branches don't use the same playful shit talk to each other.
People are serious about their military 😊
No, most people I know in the military joke about it being shitty, talk other branches in a playful manner, even talk shit each other's jobs (POG vs Grunt) (Nonner Vs Maintenance)
They would laugh at anyone this sensitive to a joke about the Army like the people in this thread.
They would laugh at Squid's comment about how hard it is to get past MEPs and qualify for service.
I was a military recruiter. It’s a known fact that 70% of people don’t qualify and I backed it up with a source, these are DOD findings. It’s not my random opinion. People didn’t join the military for one of four general reasons:
1. Too fat/medical issue
2. Too stupid
3. Criminal record/drug use
What’s your excuse?
And yeah-veterans often make jokes among each other...I’ve heard them all. @Shazam @nemacyst @bringstheeagle @swervyn have all earned that right because they served. You haven’t.
Thanks Nem, the only reason I thought that at first is because the Army did actually lower their standards for a higher female pass rate for infantry.
As have the Marines in other MOS fields:
1. It isn't a secret elite club. You don't have to earn a right to make a joke. That's beyond stupid to begin with.
2. I can definitely see why people would want to pass on the military. They're smart not pussies. Long TDYs away from families that break up marriages, 12 hour work days depending on the job, half your training related to either sexual assault prevention and don't kill yourself briefs. Shitty free healthcare and shitty living conditions (branch specific). I'm not even touching up on alcoholism, medical problems, etc. For what? Wars in the Middle East that haven't made America a better place.
Also you have no clue about what I have or haven't done. I prefer to keep it that way though
You actually sound like someone who has served but didn’t like it. You’re perhaps giving that away here 😊. I’ve always thought you were actually a veteran anyway.
You'll never know that answer. No one on this app knows my personal info. I even haven't given my honest answer on where I live or my age.
I will say I'm pro soldier but not a fan of the military industrial complex
Too bad you sound interesting. Sorta like an alienated special operator yourself from one of the services 😊.
It’s okay to protect your information.
SQUID - the thing I find laughable is when men who couldn't hack the female physical requirements, piss and moan about the difference with the male requirements. Not to mention the grit it takes to make it through a deployment. Shut up and sit down Nancy. Real life isn't like Call of Duty buttercup.
That being said, we're both WAY too soft to have hacked what Bringstheeagle lived through. You should ask him about it offline. He should write a book. Seriously.
Respect is earned, not given. Some people on this forum get it. Others never will.
I respect that you tricked people to make a quota
