Is there anyone on your 'side' (author, tv or radio personality, podcast, etc) that you think would possibly be able to persuade someone on the other side to change their outlook on some issues if they gave them a legitimate chance?
Bill O'Reilly was my first introduction to Conservatism right after 9/11. Before then I just kind of assumed I was a liberal, but really I just wasn't paying attention. I was flipping through the channels and came across this guy that was saying things I hadn't heard before, and wasn't taking crap from anyone. Everything he said made so much sense to me. I was hooked.
Then I discovered Rush. He perfectly stated what the liberals were up to, and could predict everything they would say and do, with nearly 100% accuracy.
Since then I've kind of evolved to a more libertarian position on some issues, but credit them with my political awakening.
I don’t really have a “side.” I have lots of opinions, but I don’t align myself with Republicans or Democrats, liberals or conservatives. I take some positions from all of the above.
